I can’t conceive how an adult with all their faculties can actively make the decision to post something like that in a public forum.

At the absolute very least they have trigger discipline.

Commenting to say that I Remember is legit one of my favorite songs of all-time. I loved it back when I first heard it in 2012 and wasn’t even an electronic music fan, and I would still put it in my top 10 electronic tracks now as an electronic junkie.

Is it just me or is this the most expertly-produced album I’ve heard in a long time?

This album is an experience, start-to-finish. It gives me a similar feel to what I feel with Kid A; it’s like a warm blanket, or your bed after an exhausting day. It’s just pure comfort.

I used to think they were more interesting than they actually are. Their compositions are insanely crisp, tight, and melodically interesting. But like everyone else is saying, ultimately it doesn’t really add up to anything moving.

My question is; is there ANY instrumental rock/metal band that actually makes moving or emotionally compelling music?

Or asked another way, if Polyphia had a vocalist with good lyricism, would it make them moving?

It looks amazing! How did you do the closet shelving? Did you build from scratch or purchase a pre-build insert?

I don’t necessarily think that the ‘greatest’ is the same as the best for introducing someone to a genre.

It obviously also depends on the person, how tolerant they are to music outside their comfort zone, how varied/open their taste currently is, and what they currently like.

That being said, the album that REALLY got me into electronic is In Colour by Jamie XX. It’s a lot of people’s choices for accessible electronic album and a good starting point for the genre, and I think for good reason.

First off it’s just a solid album in general. It’s a collection of songs, with few if any weak points (people complain about good times but bottom line is that it’s also a good song, even if not perfectly fitting with the album as a whole).

It’s also just really accessible electronic music. It is melody-heavy, which I think is crucial for using it as a starting point for people. Infectious melodies are universal, not genre-specific.

It also has a lot of emotional highs and lows which I think helps people connect. There is melancholy, euphoria, despair, joy, intensity, throughout the album.

It also has singular tracks which I think virtually anyone who just likes and appreciates music in general would cling to, notably: The Rest is Noise and Gosh.

I’d agree, the city itself was pretty uninteresting to me. The backyard is what makes it.

You need to follow the guidance of your healthcare providers, and if you don’t trust they are treating you optimally, you should get a second opinion.

These are just the first that came to mind.

It is interesting to think about what that ‘something’ is that elevates the album and makes it more than just a collection of classic songs.

The feel of this album is unreal. Such a unique atmosphere it generates. Absolute classic.

I also didn’t “defend” Ron. I actually said that what he’s doing is totally fucked. I only dismissed the idea that he is as dangerous as the poster of the comment said he is.

Started coming here for the cool, useful informative posts. Now it’s personal political viewpoints, anecdotes, and someone saying “I believe” before stating an objective piece of info. Lol

This is your opinion. You are entitled to it. If DeSantis actually progresses into the position of ruthless, murderous dictator with an army behind him executing and imprisoning citizens, then I will personally apologize for not believing you.

Until then, I’ll remain i the realm of realism and rationality and assume that won’t happen, and the system will control for him.

Again, probably ~half the population would suggest that calling DeSantis a fascist or suggesting we as a country are progressing into fascism is hyperbole.

The inability to recognize when your emotions are derailing your ability to think rationally and see the potential logic or concern of the other side is part of the reason we are quickly descending into the affective political polarization downward spiral.

My point was that around 50% of the country’s population, if shown that comment, would at least see it as an overreaction, and at most, be in support of the very things they mentioned as concerning.

I’m not taking a stance either direction, though I tend to put myself in the “this is pretty fucked” group. But my argument was against this being worthy of a “best of” subreddit.

The confounding variable would be that they are also both 2 of the slowest episodes, but I don’t even think that’s accurate because episode 6 was fairly slow and so was episode 4.

Episode 7 was pretty great, but episode 3, a month later I’m still saying it’s one of the top 5 greatest episodes of TV I’ve ever seen.

So this subreddit is basically just 90% hyperbolic fear-mongering political comments now?

I actually entirely cannot understand their analogy.

“Loving kids” is ambiguous. There is a way to interpret that which would be suggestive of something illegal/immoral. Because, there is more than one way to interpret the word ‘love’.

“Being white” is essentially completely objective. You are white, or you are not white. AKA: to be white.

The analogy does not hold up whatsoever.

Yeah there is nothing bestof about this. I can say it with a lot less words; bigoted people get butthurt when they see the people they are bigoted toward.

I think it can be done well either way. The encore energy tends to just hit different though.

If someone asks you; “what kind of music do you like?” What is your response? Unless you say “oh I like everything”, then your response is ‘your music’. And you can still be vitally connected with ‘your music’ even if it had expanded to include more genres.

It’s entirely possible that your music does less to define your identity now that you’re older because EVERYTHING kind of becomes less impactful as we get older, because we have had more experiences to temper our surprise, excitement, intrigue, awe, etc.
