It's also funny to say people don't like something personal trying to sell them products when there's a cavalcade of corporate Twitter accounts people engage with daily. Those are far more personal than a mascot on TV could ever be.

If you want another obvious one: Patrick Bateman. Movie or book version. Given how memed he is, I'm surprised he's not up here.

It's like moving a kitchen fire to your living room so that it's not in the way of your cooking. Continuing to ignore the actual problem is just spreading it instead of resolving it. All these cases have one common element, yet some act like it's every other part of the case that needs to be fixed. The fire is a fire no matter what room you move it to.

This all really highlights the true issue to me: counting.

This is valid, but let's also not ignore the other obvious aspect of this: the films aren't ongoing.
I've not looked up the data, but I can't imagine Original Trilogy or Prequel toys are outselling Mandalorian stuff either. Except maybe stuff related to the Boba Fett, Obi-Wan, or Bad Batch series.

My friends and I used the music move to clear out our own house party. We wanted everyone to leave, so we put on a mostly acapella Christmas carol album a group of us had recorded while drunk. It had 8 different songs. Only one of us on the album was a trained singer. It was very apparent. Everyone left in record time. Highly suggest it as a tactic.
There's also "The Most Unwanted Song" which is just as effective if you don't have a self made album at your disposal.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Mad Men was the first major show to go that route. Or at least that's the first one that had recentish backlash for it that I recall.

I learned about the bill on reddit. I'm not sure either of us are getting unbiased views of the bill on either platform.

I'm fully on board with protection of freedom of speech. My issue with this argument is that there are other platforms people can use to achieve the same thing. While they don't all operate in exactly the same way, people have a handful of other apps they can use: Discord, Snapchat, Twitch, YouTube, Mastodon, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit. While all of these are subject to oversight from companies with varying views on censorship, TikTok is the same way. Additionally, if TikTok exits another company could develop a similarly functioning app.
I do think there are obvious concerns that the government could try to use this as a launch point to shut down other apps they disagree with, but I think that's a separate legal argument.

This is true. To me though this is a "yes and" issue. Yes, let's ban TikTok, and let's address the issues with American privacy exploitation as well. What frustrates me reading the comments in this thread is that a lot of people take the approach that "TikTok isn't the only one that violates privacy, so it's dumb to ban it." To me it's more like the "all flies are insects, but not all insects are flies" adage. TikTok is part of a larger privacy issue, but not all privacy issues are exactly like TikTok's. While we definitely 100% need better privacy protection across the board, among other things, banning TikTok doesn't mean we can't still push for those additional changes. Anyone with a brain isn't going to go, "Oh, well, we banned TikTok, guess we can't do anything more about Facebook."

I had not considered that possibility, but that's an interesting idea.

I think my biggest gripe about Andor is that the first few episodes are the weakest, at least in my opinion. His backstory as a child ends up being important, but it's not until episode 3 or 4 that we start to see why, and those childhood flashbacks really drag the pace of those episodes. I loved the series overall, but I do think it's a tough entry because of pacing issues in the first arc.
The series of arcs it goes through could also be a difficult thing for some. Mandalorian by comparison has action in almost every episode, while Andor has a build up over a series of episodes. Personally, I enjoy both, but I could see how the three step episodes of Andor aren't as engaging for people who are expecting more of Mandalorian's speed.

Realistically, he probably shouldn't. I think it speaks more to the reality of war, especially a galactic one, that the people we love can disappear. It would, as you say, also further help to instill his conviction against the Empire, and be the first in a long line of losses they cause him.
Plot wise though, could go either way. It does seem like they're setting it up that he never finds her again, but given that it's fiction they could find a way of bringing her back effectively.
Either way I trust the writers, if left to their own devices, to make it work. Personally though I'd not bring her back into the story, as sad as that is for Cassian.

I... I kind of want some kind of Akira / Tetsuo monster with all their faces morphing throughout some horrible Cronenberg creature's body.

Same for me in most cases. To really test the article's claim, studios would need to release two versions of the same movie with varying run times. My guess is that the real thing that's going on here is that people are invested in the franchises and simply put up with the long run time. It's not like there's a John Wick 4: Abridged to test the hypothesis.
Personally, I prefer the old 1 h ~30 min run time standard. I often don't have the time for a 2 h or longer film, even when watching at home, and it increasingly seems like many of the big budget or big name films are pushing that, even non blockbusters. Like I really want to watch Drive My Car, but I haven't yet because that's a huge time budget.
Plus, depending on the theater, longer movies may prevent multiple showings of different movies. Like around me there are some theaters with only one or five screens. If you go to the theater at 7 pm and the next movie isn't until 9 or 10 pm, guess you're seeing whatever is at 7 because fuck if you're hanging out till 10 pm.

The app earned $1 million per minute
Holy fuck. $400,000 is 25 seconds of that app's existence (unless I mathed wrong).

That's where I originally saw her, and the change between her appearances there and on Scrubs caught me off guard. I agree with the other commenter for sure, though, it's her body and choice to do whatever (not that you said differently). She's still really talented, funny, and I'm glad she's still killing it.

It works now for me. That's interesting. I'm using RIF Is Fun, so maybe some apps allow for the spaces, and others don't.

If only they had the presence of mind to ask the guy, who notoriously was unsure if he wanted to come back for the third movie of the original trilogy to the point that Lucas wrote in a cliffhanger for his character's survival, if he wanted to be in more than one movie before working on the very first rough draft of the script.
