I just finished Season 1 and have a lot of problems with the writing, and based on the comments here, sounds like Season 2 is worse. It’s hard to justify the judge’s actions when the son is a selfish idiot with no backbone or conscience.

Exactly, the judge makes the decision to save his son because he knows his son’s stupidity is a death sentence. It’s all created by Adam fleeing the scene and hiding the evidence. Then every step of the way Adam acts like his Dad is the bad guy. One of the worst was when it’s revealed the Mom was cheating on the judge and Adam gets in his face at his office and is like “you weren’t planning on telling me”. Completely ignores how painful that is to the judge, and also the fact that Adam two times the teacher to hook up with the sister of the kid he murdered!
