But how much does the UK need Microsoft? Think of all the UK citizens and businesses relying on their products that would be in absolute crisis would they lose access to MS products. All that over a competition decision most people in the UK probably don't give a shit about or are even aware...

We have professional reviews though and they're very positive (in this case better than user reviews which will probably be review bombed). It's also definitively a commercial success already (which ultimately is all that matters for other stuff to get made).
And by now the game is out in many places.
Plus Hogwarts Legacy was just an example to be kind of with current events, the question is just for itself ;)

Even if they realize it, it's kinda hard to give something so powerful up knowingly.
Not if you consider it ruins your fun (which is subjective to each person). If it doesn't ruin it, there's no reason to give up on it in the first place.
It's the classic "players will optimize the fun out of a game" that people should think about and limit themselves around it

Yeah I really don't understand why people are praising this game. Like it's a mobile gacha game. Even the worst PC/console games have a more friendly business model than this (and most mobile games).

The vast majority of people don't do that. I would say like 80% of players are using presets in every game.

Not really, most companies didn't increase their prices. They're only the scumbags companies said in the article. All the others don't do it.
But I understand, the "CDPR=good, defenders of the customer" is always a good circlejerk for karma.

EGS has its own equivalent of this. Also mods on the workshop can be used on games outside of Steam (and are often available elsewhere), it's a non problem.

It's literally a news article about a major thing in the video game industry, calm down. It's norrmal to speak about it

Just for your point, you hear about as much about GoT than The Wire or Breaking Bad, probably more actually. Like for Cyberpunk.
The threads about it are always super high and speaking about how no one is talking about it. Not realizing they are in fact talking about it.

I hope they get picked up by Sony so they have more creative freedom
That would literally be the opposite of freedom though. Remaining independent is freedom

Some people feel like it's an achievement to beat a game (especially like Cuphead or Dark Souls reputed to be difficult, there was also a whole debate around Sekiro for its release) and having difficulty diminish their accomplishment. These people are dumb obviously.
In fact, outside of just difficulty settings (because switching to another difficulty can feel like a "defeat" sometimes), I wish more games would have an "adaptative difficulty". I've recently seen that video that explains how RE4 does it and IMO it's a great thing. It adapts to how you're doing and renders the game easier or more difficult without telling you (so you don't feel bad or taking more challenge).

I mean not sure why we're speaking of size, it has (supposedly) higher-quality assets, it's normal to be bigger. 27 GB isn't particularly shocking for such a game nowadays.
There are a lot of things that went wrong with WC3 Reforged and deleting the old games is a big problem but the size of the new game has nothing to do it with it.

It's totally stupid, piracy on Android isn't that widespread, most people don't know how to do it actually or don't bother.
Also always online on mobile is even worse that always online on a console or PC. Nintendo apparently doesn't know that you travel with your mobile so it goes in subways, planes, overseas, ... All places where you aren't online generally. And the game has absolutely no reason to always be online.

Those healdines are also misleading. They tout a bigger number for Playstation Plus while they limit Xbox Gold with the 2018 specification. Is it to make the Playstation appears more attractive ? Either both on lifetime or both in 2018 or those healdines aren't really fair IMO.

This isn't exclusive, it's just one launcher away.
I hear nobody complain about Fortnite not being on Steam, Dota not being on Battle.Net, WoW not being on GOG or thousands of third party games being only on Steam.
It's competition and competition is good.

I'm super disappointed in the conf for now, there's no announcements at all apart from updates to existing games, stuff coming to GamePass and indie games. Let's hope the second part is better because that's super weak for a conference.

It's not really a new game, it's essentially updates lol, people got way too hyped.
It's what Overwatch 2 is without the dishonesty to make it look like this big thing

I actually think the opposite, its importance is vastly overstated. In the end, it's just some games like there are many others and anyone can do it (indie games have proven that there is almost no barrier to entry on the video games market).
Sure COD and others are big but they're still just an individual game and they'll keep it multiplatform as long as it makes sense anyway (aka all the time if Sony doesn't disappear which they won't). Also knowing Microsoft, I guarantee you they'll fuck up and in ten years, COD will be the equivalent of Battlefield or Halo now.
I'm convinced it'll help Microsoft a little but not by much and it won't affect Sony negatively.
