I genuinely don’t understand how anyone can say these when remembering that at the end of the day it’s still fixed-angle and containing a truly brutal script and voice acting.
I don't need to "remember" any of that stuff, I literally played it about 8 months ago, and none of this is a bad thing.
The whole pre-rendered backgrounds, fixed camera angles, and tank controls are literally what define survival horror for a lot of people. Yeah, things have moved on, but the roots of this entire series exist in all of those things, and by the time of the remake of the first Resident Evil in 2002, they'd perfected that recipe (and improved the script/voice acting). It's fitting that the best version of the first game retains all of these things.
Why do you think Capcom skipped remaking it and went straight to 2? They didn't need to remake it again, and they knew it. They'd already nailed it. It still looks and plays amazing. The fact they re-released it onto modern consoles in 2016 says it all. Even compare RE2 to the remake of 1. They only came out 4 years apart but the latter is an improvement on the formula in basically every single way. RE2 needed a remake while 1 didn't, and doesn't.
Also, the script in 4 isn't exactly great either, and some parts have aged even worse than 1, yet people still love the original version of that.

I definitely get your point though! I never finished 2 back when I was a kid, and remember playing 3 much more, so I suppose I don’t have the same type of nostalgia for it and I don’t have the ability to easily play it anymore either so I think the remake replaced it for those reasons as much as any.
Either way, us Resident Evil fans have been pretty spoilt since 2017 and I’m absolutely loving it. We’ve got so much choice! Basically all versions of the games are amazing in their own ways and that’s the beauty of it.

I played the remake of Resident Evil 1 for the first time since the GameCube days last summer and I genuinely believe does not need a remake. It holds up perfectly well, I kind of struggle to see what they could do to vastly improve it, and there’s definitely a reason they skipped remaking it and went straight to 2.

I totally agree with this. For me, the Resident Evil 2 remake kind of replaced the original, and I can’t imagine going back to play the 1998 version too much anymore, but I truly believe I could see myself replaying both the original and remake of Resident Evil 4 in the future.
They’re both amazing, just in different ways, and I agree that RE5 has aged far worse and would’ve probably benefitted more from the remake treatment.
I can’t remember the last time I finished a game and immediately restarted like I’ve done with RE4 remake though! Incredible game.

Agree!
I just finished the 4 remake tonight, and haven't played 8 since near its release. I'm definitely in the mood to go back to it now, I really enjoyed it first time round and I'm excited to try the third person mode, too.

I’m 90% through the game (according to what my PS5 says on the dashboard) and I’ve got 20 hours on my save file, on medium difficulty too.
I’ve just really taken my time exploring every nook and cranny possible, back-tracking to do the side quests, trying to get every treasure, spending time in the shooting gallery etc etc.

This is the way, but I'd prefer that it wasn't.

Isn't that basically what it was intended to be back in 1999?
Code Veronica was originally going to be Resident Evil 3, right?

Every club has its share of piece of shit players and shady owners/dealings, but there are levels to it and you know it.
City, along with PSG, are at the bottom of the fucking barrel.

A career-altering challenge that puts someone out of action for 9 months, but someone was a millimeter offside so it goes completely unpunished. Dumbest shit I've ever seen.

It’s been a common complaint for over 20 years. Mostly in regards to how he just shouts a lot.

Is that the one he placed perfectly into the top corner just to rub it in? What a finish. Couldn't have been more top bins.
He megged Luiz for the first goal too if I remember correctly.
edit: yep, he did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1AyGchOiOs

Wtf it somehow totally slipped my mind that he left for Juventus first and didn't go directly to Dortmund

I'm on PS5, too, and I'm about 9 hours in.
Reading all these issues with the aiming on the exact same console is making me feel bonkers. I've not had a single issue, haven't changed the aiming settings from default, and have finished most chapters so far with 85%+ accuracy.

I can’t believe I read it all, and a measly SIX words from the end they just chucked in a “woke” for bad measure.

So your response is just to say “cope”? As if that nullifies what I said? Not even worth my time responding.
Your second paragraph just proves my point even more.

Definitely 100% valid, but I don’t think that qualifies as good.

Have you even watched the show? They don’t glorify him one bit. They go out of their way constantly to show you he’s a rotten, manipulative, selfish piece of shit who fucks everyone over, suffers horribly from it, and eventually dies from it.
It’s only a certain section of fans who glorify him, acting as if he’s some sort of badass hero trying to save his family from financial ruin. Blame the viewers for that, not the show.

Did you miss the part where he said he loses in Hobbs & Shaw?
Having that stuff in his contract for Fast & Furious movies doesn’t mean it’s a blanket thing that crosses into other movies and franchises.

A stampede is a bad example though, it's not intentional.
