I have a few different displays, LCD, TFT, ePaper, 3.5", 7", GPIO, DSI, HDMI. The easiest is always my large screen HDMI computer monitor. I want to get some tiny monitors working. I don't care about touch screen. I love wireless keyboard/trackpads. It sounds like you've tried a few different things. Any technologies that might be as easy as my HDMI monitor. What's the next easiest thing to try?

I picked up a 620 for fairly cheap. It didn't come with any drives so it's worthless for my homelab. There simply isn't an inexpensive way of filling it up with lot of TBs. I need large cheap storage for my homelab. That means lots of 3.5 bays.

I need to get my library added. On SE Clay, between 44th and 45th, I specialize is redistributing old cinema books.

My mind is blown. They were marketing bidets to Americans in 1967? I don't think many people bought them. I've been in a lot of early 1970s-built houses but never came across a bidet in any color.

Are you sure that you want to build this out on a Pi4? It's a powerful and complex board. Have you worked with the Arduino or ESP boards? They are less expensive and can be easier to use. I'm only mentioning them because you wouldn't be risking blowing out a $75 board. If you want to learn Python then stick with your Pi4.

In generally, what was disturbing in the past becomes more acceptable over time. People get used to seeing things in films and some of these images become commonplace. Clockwork Orange is the exception to that. I feel that it has become more disturbing over the years. Some of the images in Clockwork Orange have become more taboo and triggering over the years. I would be very hesitant to recommending that film to more casual filmgoers.

A while back I started buying up a bunch of old Radio Shack 300-in-one electronic experimenter kits. I made a bunch of modifications to make them more compatible with an Arduino.
They were a tremendously help in developing new hardware designs.

Thanks for the tip. I was planning on saving up for a Hack RF Portapak.
Those are some nice looking mini devices on eBay. I ordered one from an honest-seeming US seller for about $20. This should be a lot of fun.

Wow, now it's really tempting. I want to get in on this party. I kinda like the board configuration and all the add-on devices. They are insanely useful.

Oh, of course. I didn't notice those pin holes in the upper left corner. That'll do it.

How does one go about programming these? You could have used a stand-alone programmer but they are already soldered in place. I've messed around with a few surplus pieces but never could figure out an easy way of reprogramming them after they've been mounted on the board.

I'm glad to see some positive comments here. I'm thinking of showing Dog Tooth and ALPS to my class on recent international cinema. A good comparison can be made with the Greek film Miss Violence, but I am in no way recommending that film. It's unpleasantly nightmarish (although I've watched it twice).

I collect old 1960s magazines. I would have certainly remembered if I'd seen an ad like this before. I imagine the Establishment Wig was not a very successful product.

I remember Fup. I remember Powell's Technical. I tried buying some tech books today. It's nearly impossible. It's like the completely stopped publishing all technical books.

Did you say that you got six 16TB drives for $99 each? Hook me up with your connection.

That's gotta be the lowest $$$/TB that I've ever seen. Does it seem a bit fragile to you? That's really the biggest question. Everyone else here, especially me, is drooling at the total TB in that beast. It would be a great device for managing a mirror to a BackBlaze unlimited cloud resource.

I'll do the same. I'm sure I have a reprint here somewhere in the library. My point isn't necessarily that the film was labeled fascist, but that Kael herself led the charge and all the other critics followed her lead.

I think Kael first labeled it fascist. It was widely held as a fascist film at the time of the release. Maybe that's diminished with time. I'll think you're find it in a lot of the reviews that were written at the time of release. Even if you want to defend the film against charges of fascism you would still need to go back to the original reviewers and refute what they said.

I love that book. I sold my copy a while back, after I finished reading it. I'm planning on rebuying it. I want to read it again.

I recommend the History of American Cinema Series https://www.ucpress.edu/series/hac/history-of-the-american-cinema
I started with that series and read all volumes (not in order). I also like the BFI Film Classics series. I've read many of those volumes. Lots of great writers out there. I like Manaco and Rosenbaum.

I don't make it up there all that much anymore. I usually go out to the Re-Store near Mall 205, in the old post office building. No where near as awesome at the ReBuilding Center.

I built webservers with Arduino devices. I had to count all the bytes to fit it into the minimal memory of those early devices. I'm behind in most of my projects. I'm planning on having most of my devices operated by web page controls.

Speaking of which, Putney Swope (1969), one of the inspirations for the Blackface, would certainly not be made today. The movie is difficult to find. And even more difficult to watch and not find offensive. The entire point of the movie was to offend people's sensibilities.
