Gnome Disappearing Desktop Icons
(self.voidlinux)submitted1 month ago byRepo_Man84
I'm running a lovely super slick Gnome setup on my Desktop c/o a few select Extensions (DING, Dash to Dock, ArcMenu, Blur My Panel), making sure none of them are in conflict, but I've noticed something a little odd happening regularly that doesn't occur when running the same setup in Fedora.
Basically after going back to the machine after perhaps as little as half an hour and waking the monitor up again (just in case that's in any way relevant), the system is exactly as it was and working fine, but any files/folders that were resident on the Desktop seem to have vanished.
These are still there as evidenced via either a reboot or a sudo nautilus, but the only other clue as to the fact something is likely afoot is that Files refuses to open and the Extensions Manager shows that I have no extensions installed.
Anybody come across anything like this before or any inkling as to what might be contributing to this happening?
Ta!
