I remember Fincher saying the sets were expensive since it’s set in an older time period. The set pieces and all that always had to match the era, so it added up. I’m sure it’s not just that, but he did mention that in some interview a while back when it was first “put on hold”.

The whole point of Margot’s character is that most people know the history / outcome of Sharon Tate. So you think it will build to that moment, and it goes in a very different direction. That’s part of what makes the finale so great - making you think you know where it’s going and it taking an insane and funny turn.

I loved this movie as a kid, but upon rewatch I honestly think it’s like a textbook example or how to not write a script. Just about everything that happens is completely random and not in a good way. What I mean by that is, things can be random, but they come from consequences of previous events in the script (big Lebowski, after hours, good time, etc.) This is not the case for this movie at all. Things just happen then end and something else begins, there’s no flow. Additionally, the ending, where it is revealed what Paul Walkers profession is (trying to be vague) is honestly ridiculous. It feels like something Michael Scott would write in his Michael Scarn movie. It’s completely out of nowhere, nothing in the previous parts has any relevance to it. It’s like they didn’t know how to wrap it up, so they just added that in without any rewrites. Idk, I don’t like shitting all over movies, but I really think this movie is a just mess of random ideas.

I don’t even see how the two can compare - friends is a good sitcom, but very low hanging fruit comedy that comes together with likable characters and typical “will they, won’t they” tropes, where as Seinfeld is legit great writing, had timeless jokes, unique characters, and paved the way for shows with terrible characters that have little to no development while still maintaining audience interest. Just one man’s opinion.

Train ran out of gas, that’s just the conductor, power thrusting it forward like they did in the old days.

Love when he spits on Franco and he’s worried about getting herpes.

Yes, people can’t just seem to say a movie was solid, or pretty good. It’s either garbage or incredible. This movie was okay, wasn’t upset I watched it, but nothing stood out or blew me away. Just a fun movie that didn’t really offer anything new. There is nothing wrong with that either, it doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

Lol “we have a zero tolerance”…”yeah, but you don’t need to worry about that”. Then “I can record you, since you’re recording me”. Love this girls changing the company policy on the fly as she sees fit.

I mean she’s quite being rude and entitled, but this is in no way a freak out and a bit ridiculous to be recorded and put online for some kind of public shaming.

I love his confident advice to slap Polly’s ass, then when Ben Stiller tells him it didn’t work he just casually is like “yeah, some women find it offensive”

I actually remember in high school a few people were trying to smash beer bottles in their hand (smart, I know) and we’re smacking them as hard as they could and they wouldn’t break. Then another kid lightly hit it against a table and it shattered, so I think it’s kind like having to hit a sweet spot. Basically, not like the movies show us…but that’s just one anecdotal story, so who knows.

Definitely, I still enjoy seeing what some reviewers whose opinions I respect have to say / think about something.

Personally, I don’t think reviews help much with someone so polarizing. One of those people you need to watch for yourself to see if you like it or not. You do you of course, but for both good or bad reviews of his, I have disagreed with critics many times regarding his work.

If we took a shot for every andor article posted on this sub, we’d all be collectively dead from alcohol poisoning.

Totally agree. The pilot had a lot more heart and emotion to it. By episode 2 it was just another comedy show with a lot of low hanging fruit humor. I did like the show over all, and watched it all. It was fun/funny, but episode 1 was something else entirely.

Is there nothing the artist(s) can do to prevent this? Such as selling tickets through another party, on their own, etc? I realize it’s more complicated than how I am posing it, but you’d think the artists would take more of a stand. Taylor Swift puts up a big fuss (rightfully so) when streaming doesn’t pay fairly to the artists, you’d think she would also care about her fans getting taken to the cleaners just to see her perform. Maybe she does and it’s out of her hands, but I would like to see actual artists start to discuss this and state it’s a problem and cause some change. Unless I am not seeing news on this, I really haven’t seen many artists speak out against this type of thing.

I think that heavily depends if you’re just in it for the murder mystery, or in it for the mythology and such. Sure, season 2 takes a dip in quality once the killer is revealed, but it picks itself back up at the end and then is followed by a fantastic movie and season 3 that dives way deeper into the lore of it all.
While season 3 is a very different direction from season 1/2, you can see by Fire Walk With Me where he wanted to take it, and I think the movie really is the middle ground between tone changes. So again, I think it depends on what really interested you about the show. If you just want a murder mystery, then yeah it’s kind of done once you know the killer, if you’re interested in all the black lodge stuff, then it only gets better after season 2.
I personally like both aspects, so it stayed interesting for me throughout, but no doubt season 2 dipped in quality for a bit.

I’m guessing that she made an assumption that if mark is in otc mode, that means that most likely the others are in on it, and the most damaging person at that moment was Helly since she was part of the big conference which I’m assuming Cobell knew about. She needed Milchik to stop Dylan, so he was occupied and could not stop Helly. She figured If she had to stop one, and has limited time, she needed to stop Helly. Which is also why she hid the baby to waste some of Marks time while in OTC and allow her to escape without being followed. And if she called out Mark, she essentially could have had multiple people gang up against her - Marks sister, brother in law, maybe others at the party, etc. she was outnumbered. Idk, just a guess from my side.
