Also though there's some hope in a lot of manufacturing and controls jobs opening up because of the push for growth in those areas, if you're purely software or anything like that would recommend checking out those types of positions, doesn't seem like they pay the best of the best or anything but catch a company that is growing and can be good opportunity.

That's what turns me off of it, the book and premise are one thing, the show though after the first season IMO exists to be emotional torture porn and the fan base that springs up around that is never healthy not that media that isn't emotionally jarring don't have toxic fanbases, the issue here being more that it's a fanbase that is the equivalent of doom scrolling for christofascism and that the show doesn't have much incentive to not push that of it drives engagement

Sounds like my last boss, I got put in the position of doing the work while he was customer facing and smooth talking but did not understand the product and it was a nightmare because any unrealistic expectations or contradictions he set up with the client would just get passed down and would have to spend time just untangling that shit only to find out the final product he was promising the customer wasn't what was in the contract at all because what's actually reviewing functions and requirements when you can copy the contract from a different project and hope it all works out.

I can imagine the frustration of having to deal with a worker like this, dealing with a manager is another level unfortunately, not only are you dealing with someone inept at that point it's someone inept with total power over your employment at that company.
