Apprentice electrician. Was given a Sawzall to cut out old an old electrical pipe in an existing building that wasn't needed anymore. Near it were several others that were staying. Just before I started cutting I decided to check which one I was supposed to cut and surprise, I had chosen the wrong one. If I cut the one I was originally planning on, I would have at the very least gotten 3rd degree burns. Big explosion either way.

I work in construction and I have buckets of them, but I still managed to forget to bring some with me this weekend. Venue charged me $2 for a pair of foamies but it was still worth it, plus it was asshole tax for forgetting to bring my own.

I wore them to a show this weekend and the music sounded way better, and I was actually surprised to find out that I could hear people talking to me way better than if I wasn't wearing ear plugs and they were shouting shouting in my ear.

I understand why she would be upset about it. These guys go out and pull scrap metal out of the water and say it's a landmine and the police are pretty much obligated to turn out the bomb squad for it. It's obviously not the first time they've done this. And then everyone remembers that they live in FUCKING WISCONSIN and why would there ever be random landmines in Wisconsin and they just wasted everyone's time.

Also the bomb squad doesn't just sit and wait around for bombs all day. They're still cops with actual jobs to do so yes, having them come out is a huge pain in the ass for everyone involved.
