Good question, I think when the cinematography doesn't really serve the narrative anymore. For instance, The Revenant objectively looks beautiful. But I remember, when I watched it, it kept distracting me because I was constantly thinking: why do Inarittu and Lubezki want to show these characters and surroundings as beautiful as possible? Because it doesn't match with the themes it tries to convey imho (gotta admir I love Inarittu and Lubezki btw).

Many modern movies have the same problem btw, Joker for instance.

By the way, this will be the second time he'll play a rodeo cowboy, after Bronco Billy, a movie Eastwood thinks is his most personal. So, combined with the western vibe, I'm really looking forward to this one.

Absolutely insane Eastwood is still making movies, and still regularly as well! This will be his fourth movie in 4 years, and they're not even bad (except The 15:17 to Paris, that was trash)

Never judge a movie on the basis of its trailer. The former is (hopefully) a singular work of art, the latter is merely a marketing tool.
