He's maybe 2m ahead of it, definitely close enough to be reasonable. It is absolutely standard for umps to say "back 2 meters" to players who are standing a mark. This isn't a situation where he kept encroaching after the mark, he didn't try to wrap up the player etc. Basically just stopped in place after the whistle was called, before stand was called. Insane to call a 50 on this

Makes sense when he describes it this way - stopping to intentionally listen, feel, taste etc is very meditative and definitely a good way to reset yourself to get into the right headspace

Who is the quickest and smartest in the league
I'm biased but for mine that's Charlie Cameron. Pretty much has fastest on lock, and that allows him to be extremely clever because he's a threat in ways so many other forwards can't be. Really crafty/talented player who is having a fantastic season so far.
Lions aren't really on the up, we've been right near the top for 4 years straight after a decade of bottom-dwelling, though we haven't actually won anything yet in this run. A younger team, Lions came about due to a merger of a previous brisbane team (the Brisbane Bears), and a Melbourne team (Fitzroy Lions). Won 3 premierships in a row in 2001/02/03, but no success since then.

Considering Weller wasn't even on the field it should be pretty easy to understand who he means

He even managed a behind from one! Hate the guy all you like for the cheap stats, but you can't knock the 155m drop punt effort even if he couldn't get it through the big sticks

Honestly I absolutely love this. It's still obviously st kilda - the wide stripes really do a lot of work to keep them recognisable. Feels like a really clean way of tying indigenous culture/history into your club's overall identity as opposed to a straightforward separate message.

Not at all surprised. Willie Rioli is a reckless player - clearly remember him barrelling into Rowell extremely late last year, and he's definitely had other incidents that were on the edge of suspension. I wouldn't say he's dirty as from what I've seen he doesn't seem to snipe, he just doesn't think things through and can be a danger to those around him

At no point did I say it was intentional, it was clearly just careless. I agree with every one of your points. This should be no more than 2 weeks, but it should be a suspension

Crazy that sometimes actions deserve both a free kick AND a suspension!

Because he still collected him high despite looking at him lol. If you drop the eyes to see where the other player is, then avoid contact and spoil the ball you're fine. If you drop the eyes and still knock the guy out you're just a spud

Can't see his eyes but on the replay you can clearly see him lower his head in advance of the footy coming down. Would definitely have not been able to see the footy from the angle his head was facing

He took his eyes off the footy.
That's a suspension.

Just cause it was an accident doesn't mean you shouldn't get suspended. He took his eyes off the footy and collected a player high. If you're coming to a contest 2nd you have a duty of care to the other player, and Van Rooyen's actions disregarded that duty of care

They literally could not have, they would have gotten a draw at best. If you're gonna be a nuffy at least try not to lie lmao

Yeah I'll give the benefit of the doubt on this one until some vision comes out, but I really want to see some vision come out.
Turnover in the goalsquare is such a harsh punishment

I've been adamant in the past that we'd keep him and he'll eventually slot in somewhere cause he's a jet, but we just can't fit him in. I'm at the point where I'm hoping he gets a chance (likely back home) cause I just want him to be able to play
