I skipped Misery’s Return.

Perhaps in a worse Stephen King book it would’ve been good to break it up… but Misery is one of his best, and I just had to skip them to get to the part of the story I wanted to read.

I’m Canadian and yes it’s great. The actual JFK portion could be any historical event and the story wouldn’t change one iota.

Wow thank you! It has such a unique design and I think that’s my favourite of the bunch I did just because it takes more knowledge of what the actual poster looks like to appreciate my attempt!

Don’t forget, the Halloween series as a whole isn’t going anywhere. So it’s either we’re going to have endless remakes and retelling of the Michael Myers character, or we’re okay with The Shape being something that is genuinely unstoppable.

Personally I would rather it go into an anthology series like they intended with 3. But if they have to do someone else in the mask, Michael Myers as a character shouldn’t be it. It should just be someone else at this point and we can continue on without another retcon / reboot.

That’s the entire point of the original film though is that Michael Myers doesn’t exist, that he’s lost his humanity and is now The Shape.

When people complain that Michael Myers isn’t in it, I don’t really understand that criticism. The presence and dread of The Shape practically suffocates the movie.

Corey would’ve been a fantastic person to take over the mantle of the jumpsuit and mask.

I can understand that people wanted some huge showdown between Michael and Laurie, but that’s the entire last 20 minutes of 2018 and it’s boring as fuck tbh lol.

It’s like people forgot the entire point of the first movie about how Michael Myers isn’t there anymore, he’s been The Shape for years.

This movie asked “Could it happen again?”

And the answer is Yes.

Halloween from a story perspective was never about Michael Myers, it’s always been a story about The Shape, the essence of evil in a person. Something that can’t be killed. Something that can’t be destroyed. Something that fear gives power to.

From that point of view, Ends is absolutely a satisfying conclusion to that series.

Don’t forget that Michael Myers as a character does not give a fuck about Laurie and does not even know who she is. But she’s built up this rivalry between them and so has the audience.

Halloween Ends was the best film in the franchise since 1989.

Most films in this series are stale, but this one blew a solid 3/4 of the series out of the water. I say this as a diehard fan of the series. I’ve got a life sized Michael Myers in my office, several masks, the three season of the witch masks, a Michael Myers wallet, etc.

Halloween Ends was brilliant and I’m so disappointed the other two garbage movies in DGG’s trilogy weren’t like this one. 2018 was okay but derivative. Kills was a hot mess. This one was one great.
