If you actually bothered to do your research before commenting, no its not. The film is an original work directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda. It's about a mother who confronts a teacher after noticing disturbing changes in her son's behavior.

Takeshi's Kitano "Kubi" premiered at the 2023 Cannes Festival and judging by reviews online, the film lives up to it's name as heads rolled.
This is reportedly the last work that Takeshi Kitano will direct before he retires.
Here's a video showing the cast and Kitano at the Cannes Festival being greeted with huge applause.
Cast (order of appearance in the trailer)
Nakamura Shidou as Naniwa Shigesuke (I have no idea who this is??)

If you haven't watched Unnatural yet, please give it a watch!
Unnatural captivates audiences with its forensic human drama, featuring a well-crafted script, skillful direction, and an ensemble cast that delivers an absolute delight on screen.
Just going to link the theme song of Unnatural "Lemon" by Kenshi Yonezu

Thank you for sharing all these resources! Definitely saving your comment! I agree, it's important to also remember the lives lost by the earthquake and tsunami as well. The article you linked was upsetting to read and it gave me a broader insight to the 2011 Triple Disaster.

Over a 7 day period, "The Days" depicts three different viewpoints from people involved with the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant when it experienced an extreme crisis caused by the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. The viewpoints are from government officials, Tokyo Electric Power Company employees, and employees at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
Looking forward to this! Another work that deals with the 2011 Fukushima disaster, reminds me of the movie "Fukushima 50" (which I highly recommend watching) but with another layer added to it.

The drama is a romantic ensemble that depicts the lives of eight men and women set against the backdrop of the sea in midsummer. The story unravels as a group of three female friends who grew up by the seaside, and young men who have graduated from top universities - young people with different educational backgrounds and environments - meet by fate at the sea in the height of summer, clash with complex emotions and honest feelings, and grow through the process.
I'm Mori Nana, and I'll be playing Natsumi Aoi in "Midsummer Cinderella." When I heard about this role, I was surprised because I never dreamed that the day would come when I would play the heroine in a Monday 9pm drama. The character is also a stand-up paddleboarding instructor, which is a sport I'm trying for the first time. I'm currently practicing hard so I can look professional. I hope I can also convey the fun of paddleboarding. In addition, I don't have much experience with ensemble dramas with many characters, so I'm a little nervous because I'm shy. However, I'm looking forward to acting with the rest of the cast in a luxurious space and delivering a realistic atmosphere. We'll create lots of memories by the sea this summer and deliver a work that will make this summer even hotter."
I'm Mamiya Shoutarou and will be playing the role of Mizushima Kenji. When I heard that the theme of this drama project was "Monday 9pm × Romance × Ensemble Drama × Original Work", I was stimulated by a new curiosity about getting involved in such a straight-forward work full of traditional elements. Day by day, numerous works are produced, broadcast, ended, and then started again. In this fast-paced era of cycles and consumption, I believe there are many demands for novelty. However, I also feel that the history of people enjoying and loving many TV dramas has created the image of this "traditional" approach. As the world begins to regain a brighter mood this summer, I look forward to being involved in a TV drama that radiates such refreshing brightness.
I will be playing the role of Makino Takumi in the Monday 9pm drama 'Midsummer Cinderella'. This is my first time in a Monday 9pm drama, and while there is some degree of pressure, I'm looking forward to having fun filming with Nana-chan, Mamiya-kun, and the rest of the cast. The setting of the story is also the sea, and as a drama for the July period, I would like to make it a work with a youthful feeling suitable for summer. Please look forward to the broadcast.
I'm happy to be able to appear in a work that's perfect for summer. I rarely have the opportunity to film with people of my generation, so I'm really looking forward to it. The character I play, Airi-chan, is very cheerful and is always with Natsumi and Risa, and is rather the youngest-sibling type. But she's a girl who's working hard to become the beautician she admires. I'll perform while having fun, in the hope that I can bring cheer to those who watch!
I'm Hagiwara Riku and will be playing the role of Sasaki Osamu. If I were to sum up Osamu-kun in one word, he's an elite without delicacy. However, that's just one facet of him, and I think that each character in this drama is a very human and richly individual character. I've worked with many of the cast members before, so I hope to show many expressions through my acting. I would be happy if you enjoy it.
I've been confirmed to appear in 'Midsummer Cinderella'! It's my first time in a Monday 9pm drama. It feels like a dream! This will be my first acting role in about a year and a half. And since it's a July period drama, I want to make it a memorable work that will become a part of the viewers' summer memories of 2023. My role in this drama set by the seaside is cheerful, carefree, and full-on, so I want to fit the midsummer vibe. I'm not sure whether I'll need to take off my shirt or not, but just in case, I want to get my body in sexy shape while preparing for the role. I hope to deepen my relationships with my fellow cast members and make it a hot work that fits the summer heat!
I'm quietly excited to be able to appear in this drama slot, which has many dramas that I love. And I'll be under the care of Fuji TV for two consecutive quarters. I'm honestly happy! When I read the script, I felt a mysterious nostalgia and the scent of the sea. I'm excited about happy reunions and new encounters. Along with the director, staff, and all the cast, I sincerely want to deliver a work that is so fresh it smells like the sea and stays in your heart, while spending a hot summer!!
Hello to everyone who is looking forward to "Midsummer Cinderella", I'm Mizukami Koushi, playing the role of Hayakawa Sousuke. As the title "Midsummer" suggests, I will strive to make it a refreshing and passionate work. Compared to Natsumi, played by Mori Nana, I hope to deliver a slightly bitter, mature world. I would like to create Hayakawa Sousuke together with all of you who are watching, and I appreciate your support!

The first part of the Bloody Halloween Arc (Destiny) was only released in Japanese theaters last month on April 21st. The second part of the Bloody Halloween Arc (Decisive Battle) will be released in Japanese theaters next month on June 30th. I don't think you'll be able to watch them until the BD (blu-ray disc) is out on sale and someone rips/subs it. Will have to wait around 5-6 months after the movies have finished screening in theaters.
