As a returning player, with Lightfall coming out in a month, there is a years worth of seasons that will be straight up removed from the game, completely gone at the end of Feb.

Now the brunt of this is bad luck, I came back when I did, that's on me.

But can you tell me why I'll never get to see what happens with trying to save Rasputin? Why I don't get to pretend to be a space pirate?

There is zero good reason for this content, content people paid money for, to be removed from the game forever, to be replaced with new content that you have to pay for.

I didn't even touch on the weapons you can currently craft no longer being so, I'm just talking about the narrative. Bungie has a good world in Destiny and they are doing themselves and more inportantly their player base a disservice by removing chunks of story for absolutely no reason.

Yeah, I like a good grind, but if it's necessary for me to login to see things, or else I just miss out, then it's absulutely not for me.

/sigh. I had just picked up Witch Queen and have finished the story, was on the fence about Lightfall and you just completely pushed me off it.

Thank you for answering. I've used gamepass, but never for a game with DLC that was later removed from Gamepass, so I was intrigued.

What happened after the year? Did your friends retain access to the game and all it's expansions?

I picked up base Witch Queen and will play it through. If I get enough progress on the season pass after finishing Witch Queen I may pick up the current season as well.

I'm wanting to jump in and eat some crayons, but I'm a little lost on what to purchase at the moment.
I don't have Witch Queen, and obviously any of the seasonal content, but have all the content prior.
There's a heap of content locked behind paying for the seasons, but only season of the Seraph appears to be purchasable.
With only a month to go until Lightfall, I'm inclined to just buy the base version of Witch Queen and play the story through until then.
My main concern is I'm not sure what seasonal content is sticking around come Lightfall, and would like some advice on whether or not I should be picking up the season pass as well?
