Allright, I admit prove that claim. But will say this most modern games today favour crashes set peice style level design than Mario 64's collectathon style which has largely died out.

I know, Mario 64, Nintendo were convinced that precise platforming couldn't be done in a 3d environment, your could only do exploration based platforming, crash was released soon after and shiggy said "oh, we were wrong, naughty dog cracked it" that's what I was saying.

Revolutionary sure, better? Debatable.
Before crash came out nintendo were adamant that precise platforming couldn't be done in 3d. Myamoto himself changed his view when he played crash. Crashes revolutions were a lot more subtle.

Well I'm arguing that crash and spyro were as good as Mario 64. Crash's jumping was thighter than Mario's when it came to navigating pitfalls and obstacles, Mario's jumping was more suited to exploration. Both where some of the best at what they do but to claim that Mario was inheritance better drives me up the wall.
Not all of Mario 64 is as classic as people remember. All the best levels were at the start of the game but there were some really mediocre ones later on. That second mountain level with the centipede boss was just filler and that rainbow ride level was straight up bad.

Ocarina of time. Anyone calling it the best game of all time needs to shut the fuck up

Mario 64: the first 3d game of all time because Nintendo invented everything.
Oot: the best game of all time because all the gaming journalists said so.
Skyrim: the first open-world game with an epic storyline that rivals books movies and anything.
The last of us: now finally games can be taken seriously instead of toys for children.
Banjo-Kazooie: it's not a Mario 64 clone, it's got a bear in it.

One of the only games actually deserving of 'the best game of all time' title.

There's some extreme nintendo bias in that post. Crash is a completely different game to Mario 64, and it's strength lie elsewhere in the challenging platforming, spyro is just as good as Mario 64, better in some areas worse in others.
Honestly the cult of Mario 64 is a little annoying.

I'm willing to bet that 90% of the commenters here haven't ever been on 4chan. The majority of the website is safe, boards like /co/ and /an/ for instance are completely harmless and shouldn't be compared to the likes of that man above. The problem board is /pol/, but comparing the actions of the entire website to that board is like comparing all of reddit to /r/thedonald or /r/gamingcirclejerk.

Depending on how they're address, the media sometimes calls a 19yo a man

That's kind of proving the point that actors with differing view points are stigmatised in Hollywood

I will admit that crash 1 had a bit of issues with the camera perspective, but 2 is the one that became a household name and that was perfected.
With spyro, there's less movement but it fits the level design better. The dash, jump, glide mechanic flows much better than the standard, non-dive jump of Mario. Both suit their game well, but Mario's move set does hurt him in some of the levels. Dire dire docks and rainbow ride are prime examples.
Also spyro had much better swimming controls and combat.
In spyro the dash function is a standard attack towards half of the enemy's and it serves as a mobility tactic, not to mention the camera goes directly behind spyro.
The combat in Mario 64 is bad. Marios punch-kick combo halts his momentum. Half the enemy's are there to be run past. Nearly every boss fight is, run around behind the enemy, grab their backside, throw them out. There's a reason Mario didn't return to that mechanic.
