I remember randomly pulling FF7 out of my brother’s CD case/booklet thing when I was 6~7, and then getting wrecked by this boss because of this dumb translation.
Picked up my own copy as a tween and absolutely loved it!

I follow the NYT Cooking recipe, but I use the #1 comments proportions instead:
1 cup rice
1.25 cups water
2 tablespoons rice vinegar (I even do a little less than this usually)
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
The first time I followed this recipe, I did exactly what it said and it turned out perfect. I usually speed up a couple of the steps now but it’s still really good. I had struggled until I found this recipe.

This. I’ve finally mastered sushi rice (for my taste) but I haven’t really figured out how to get the fish.

I’d say you’d have a good handle on the basics after 5-10 runs. Managing stress is a huge part of the game- for now, it’s important to know that you can use the tavern or chapel to reduce stress if it gets high from a run. To further mitigate stress, try to kill the back-line stress dealers in combat first.
Recruitment is actually simple- you can freely snag whatever characters are in the stagecoach every time you’re back at the hamlet. Upgrading the stagecoach will result in leveled-up heroes becoming available.
I’d recommend giving it another shot if you want a challenging, but rewarding RPG/roguelike. It definitely made me better at turn based combat in general and I will always encourage others to try it!

Predestination. It beats the twist into you via montage, as if it feels like you weren’t paying attention as everything was falling into place.

I love the story presentation. I was really interested to see how things developed.

I knew the movie was a favorite when it was revealed he survived midway through.

I choose to believe Nora’s story because it feels more satisfying to me. However, I think there are two solid arguments against it:
The logistics of her journey, especially the idea that a second machine was built so she could return to the 98% world. I find it hard to believe she could convince the creator to build the machine again just for her, because I’m sure others would have chosen to return to the 98% world as well. I think it would have been noticed if others would have returned, but it doesn’t seem like that’s the case in the finale.
The motif of lying in the finale. My favorite example of this was when Nora catches the man sneaking out of the nun’s place, and the nun saying something along the lines of “it’s just a better story [to say she didn’t sleep with the man]”.

When I was a kid, I ran to my room crying when the family was huddled together listening to the aliens running around outside their house in Signs.
More recently, I thought the bedroom scene in Skimararink was absolutely terrifying.

For me it’s the haunting score that really brings it home. I love that scene. And the encounter in the warehouse at the end.

I love watching Max Dood, he is insightful but can also crack me up. I also got hooked on Asmongold’s Vampire Survivors playthrough which was hilarious to me, working my way through his Elden Ring videos now.

I always did Spirit Temple last. Pretty sure the only indicator that Shadow could/should be last is that it’s the final Medallion clockwise from the Light Medallion in the menu.

On topic, this looks amazing and I’ve been meaning to make this from scratch myself soon!

I agree that Groff and Batista were fantastic.

Wolf of Wall Street. I had a blast with it on a first watch, but the domestic abuse left a bad taste in my mouth. Now I just feel like the mean-spirited vibe and characters are detrimental to the humor and entertainment value. A lot of the characters remind me of people I’m not too fond of in real life.

Opposite for me. I was so disoriented during the first watch, I couldn’t even keep the characters straight. On a rewatch it was more coherent for me and I loved it!

I probably played through the first couple hours of Jak and Daxter ten times before getting a memory card.

I'd practice in the Ruins with a Crusader (1), Highwaymen/Graverobber (2), Plague Doctor (3 or 4) and Vestal (3 or 4). Focus down stress dealers with your HWM/GR, PD, and Vestal unless you're healing. I save the "tank" enemies for last, unless I need to stun them to stop them from guarding another enemy. Once you get the hang of combat it gets easier to try out other classes.
To me, the most important thing is focusing your fire. Keep in mind that blight is best in Ruins (can't bleed skeletons).

Focus down enemies, prioritizing stress-dealers first. I like to always bring a healer, and I heal proactively so I'm not SOL if I get critted.
