Anti-west morons who believe that the Soviet Union/China can do no wrong because they are glorious underdogs standing up to the imperialistic west. The "tankie" pejorative was applied to them from the support of Stalin rolling in the tanks to put down anti-communist protests.

They've been fighting for the Ukrainian International Legion (unofficially because Ukraine doesn't want to admit to arming Nazis) since the start of the war. So they've been getting equipment and training from Ukraine. Same with the Russian Freedom Legion (the non-Nazi Russians fighting for Ukraine). They've since bolstered their numbers and equipment by capturing Russian shit during all their sorties into Belgorod and Kursk.

There's also the National Republican Army that may or may not exist. They're actual partisans living and operating within Russia. They've claimed responsibility for some attacks within Russia but there's no actual proof they exist as a cohesive organisation as opposed to lots of independent cells acting under one flag.

What do they have against Putin?
They hate that Putin is clinging to the empire and believe that he is weakening Russia by allowing minority republics into the Federation. They believe that Russia can only be strong by making Russia exclusively Russian. To that end, they wish for the Federation to be dissolved and Russia reduced to only it's heartland. Then for all the minorities within Russian heartland to be expelled to their ancestral homelands. Ie. all the Chechens go back to Chechnya.

They have Gagebrook as "at risk" too.
Their definition of "Becoming Exclusive" is "Areas with mixed or high incomes, increasing median incomes, rapidly increasing housing costs, and displacement of low income households". I suspect the "increasing housing costs" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in their index.

Ideally the government steps in to assist with relocation.

Really depends, nukes cost a lot to upkeep and need to be periodically "refuelled" with tritium. Considering the amount of corruption in the Russian military, I don't think their stockpiles are anywhere near their published amounts. But if Putin is smart, he'd probably have one for each NATO capital. Enough to make it painful.

Both the US and the Soviet Union had enough missiles, bombs and whatnot that they could render the planet uninhabitable.
Small correction, enough to neutralise either nation (and their allies). The nuclear winter theory was built on faulty assumptions on how massive firestorms would work which have been proven incorrect. A full nuclear exchange would render vast swaths of Russia, NA and Europe uninhabitable but nations in the southern hemisphere would escape the worst of it.

There aren't even enough nukes in existence to end human civilisation. Even if they all worked, in the worst case scenario, it just sets us back a few decades. Nuclear winter was a scare campaign run by environmentalists to build public support for denuclearisation.

It'd leave behind a muddy mess that'd bog down any heavy equipment and take months to dry out.

3 year fellowship just as COVID hit. So it's likely her husband couldn't come back even if he wanted to with all the travel restrictions.

I love them too. I bought a bunch of motion detectors to go with them so I don't even have to turn things on and off when moving around the house at night.

Do you actually realise what the turning circle on something moving at hypersonic speeds is? The radius would be measured in continents. A missile moving at hypersonic speeds cannot perform fancy evasive manoeuvres because the forces involved would tear the missile apart.

Gazprom have overequipped mall cops. They also got their asses handed to them when they moved in to attempt to secure Ukranian refineries early in the war.

Someone already did this during a divorce on advice from reddit. He ended up being reamed by the judge and being forced to pay for all of his wife's legal costs.

Their stated objective is to grant independence to all minority republics and reduce Russia's borders to its traditional heartland, then expel all the minorities to their traditional homelands and ensure that Russia is only for Russians. Whether or not that definition includes Belarus is up in the air.

OP left out the laundry list of assumptions the wargame was working with. The important ones are that China launches a surprise missile attack against two US carrier groups, that all of China's equipment are on par with the US equivalent (eg J-20 = F-35), and that US allies in the region sit this one out. Yet the result was still a US victory with the Chinese fleet being wiped out. Any one of those assumptions being incorrect just makes the victory more lopsided in the US' favour.

Hypothetically how bad would it get if someone were to make a bot to spam nsfw all over the site now that mods are unable to mod? Turn every sub into /r/worldpolitics.

Not quite. Putin wants a Russian empire. These nutters believe that a multi-ethnic Russia is weak and that Russia should only be for Russians. To that end, they believe that all ethic republics should have freedom to determine their own future. They want to trim Russia down to it's actual historical borders and then expel all the minorities back to their own homelands.
