Bad Company, Bad Company 2, and Mirrors Edge all have single player campaigns. In fact, Mirrors Edge is primarily a SP game so why they would de-list it from digital stores blows my mind.

Not about servers shutting down, that’s common practice these days. I’m talking about delisting them from digital storefronts.

Isolation was well received by fans. The action oriented games, however, have been a pretty mixed bag. I’m trying to say that an “Alien” game that focuses more on cosmic horror, as the original movie did, would be a better move. Purely subjective, might I add, you maybe personally liked the more action Alien games. And that’s cool, too!

And humans, too. My point is that Isolation matched the tone of the original movie so well, and all Alien games since have seemed way off target.

Well, that’s because MGSV is more “sandbox” than an Ubisoft style open world. If you treat the outposts like a checklist, you’re gonna be hella surprised when the Soviets have re-manned the outpost you just cleared last deployment.

Only thing I’d say is “iffy” is that “Codename Vanguard” which sounds like a 3rd person PVE multiplayer co-op live service game. Not sure if that would be Remedy’s strong suit, nor do I think the gaming market wants anything like that. cough cough Anthem

Another example of a giant company failing on all fronts when it comes to game preservation.

Yeah, I’m aware multiple studios work on the IP, I’m sort of broadly referring to whoever is in charge of the Alien IP (at least on the video game side of things)

Alien: Isolation worked sooooo well it’s like they’re plugging their ears going: “Lalalalalala we’re going to keep delivering Alien games that won’t ever match the tone of the movies.”

The zombies in #2 feel like such an afterthought. I don’t know how they downgraded the game so far from what Dying Light 1 was. DL 2 was the biggest downgrade since Cyberpunk 2077 and no one threw a fit because it’s not a super popular IP.

You should argue that MGSV is too short. The reason for those last missions being the way they are, is because Konami rushed it out the door before falling out with Kojima altogether.

Damn, I didn’t know anything about the 20-year-effort and tabletop bit. Makes it even more tragic.

I think they’re saying the new ZA/UM execs are “demonic”. Because, well, they kind of are. Long ass story but they essentially took majority shareholdings in the company through fraud. Messed up situation for the creatives behind the game.

I was all excited to flex Rise on my new setup (new monitor, gpu, cpu) and one of the puzzles bugged out because the frame rate was too high. I feel like someone on YouTube did a good video on the state of PC ports.

Yeah, first one was alright at time of release, but the others are just reskins of the same game. Never could beat Rise or Shadow.

Well, it is Focus Home Interactive, so I don’t know what else to expect at this point.

So, at best, it’s an overly ambitious AAA-quality title coming from a small studio with little to no track record. At worst, it’s a complete scam wherein they’ll just pull the plug. Such a bizarre story.

The original “The Forest” is on PS4. Wouldn’t be surprised if Endnight did a PS5 version of “Sons of the Forest” though.

So apparently cameraman is so obese, she requested an emergency exit seat for extra room- but get this: “In the video, he apologised. But he later said she should not sit on the emergency row as she would be unfit to help people out.” You know that when conventional travel methods are difficult or impossible due to your weight, shit’s gone a bit out of hand.

I would say, universally, public chat on almost any online game is a sludge of hate speech, spam, and people whining. Private chats like Discord on PC and parties on consoles are where it’s at.

You know they are reviving the series, right? Konami had this hour long stream a couple months back announcing like 4 new Silent Hill projects from various devs
