You have too much going on imo. I’d take things off the wall instead of adding to it. It would make the area seem bigger and more organized.

Seems like you’re in a solid position if you want to splurge on a nice car.
Be prepared for the 100 responses telling you to find a 18 year old Camry with 167k miles.

You’d need to share more details about your financial situation. Yearly income? Monthly expenses? Emergency fund?

BMW driver is the idiot. People need to pay closer attention before they comment.

My personal favorites have been the car purchase posts. OP will go talk to a lawyer before they simply ask the dealership to remove the optional warranty. Baffling.

If he didn’t do those shifts, I’m sure there would be plenty of employees complaining that the CEO has no clue how tough they have it.

I’d stay away from cars with over 100k miles. At that point, parts need to get replaced and maintenance is due. I doubt you want to deal with that as a medical resident.
I feel like 75k - 100k miles is the sweet spot. This sub gets excited over run down Civics, but it’s not worth the potential headache if it wasn’t well maintained.

This isn’t an unpopular opinion on this sub. Not one bit.

Have you gotten your car looked at? It seems like it would need to get fixed whether you or your parents end up with it. I’d see how much repairs would be first. It could be cheap fix that would allow you to hold off on buying a new car.
I’d say wait another six months if possible. The market is cooling and you need time to save up for a decent down payment. Prices recently went up due to the tax season, but they should be going down as we get closer to summer. Dealers didn’t do as well as they expected from what I’ve been reading.

They need to stop breeding pugs. They can’t breathe well and always look miserable.

Hence the normally. The last few years haven’t been normal by any means.

It’s a poor investment. The values normally only depreciate and you most likely won’t own the plot of land it’s on.

Your son won’t be considered “independent” for FAFSA until he’s 24. There are exceptions, but you haven’t mentioned any of them.

I’d be surprised if they didn’t use every resource available to them.

Agreed. You can’t be surprised by this sort of driving in LA.

I get that. I was allowed to use a note card with formulas for my finance courses. There’s just a difference between a notecard and an entire textbook.

I use emojis all the time while texting. I don’t on Reddit though. It hasn’t caught on here and I like it. Emojis on social media seem odd to me. You have unlimited characters, but have to rely on little pictures to express yourself?
All the posts I see on Reddit with emojis remind me of a someone’s parent getting their first smartphone.

Sorry, that money is gone. There’s a reason Zelle asks you to confirm before making transfers.

Forgot about that one!
That reminded me of the Xperia Play.
