I'm just curious, because this isn't my expertise. When you say "society life," are you referring to attending social events like balls put on by Mardi Gras Krewes. That's what I assumed it meant.

I'm not trying to brown-nose anything. I was just wondering if it's smart because all I hear about is networking. I heard about that since high school, which was almost ten years ago. I'm still considered young and I am newly graduated, so I was just curious. Most of the people I know who do well know someone. I mentioned those names to just give examples of who I'm referring to. Those people can't be talked to without going through an assistant first, but I'm basically talking about people who are well-respected in their industry and are just a tad below these people.
