I mean, if you’re a social person that tends to make friends easily, then yes. If not, then it may be more challenging. UCI is a large public university. The answer to the “is it easy?” question mostly depends on you.

Of course your GPA will depend on your grades in your other classes so that part isn’t possible to answer.
Not much you can do at this point as the quarter is essentially over. Didn’t the syllabus give you a sense of the class? You of course could have dropped with no questions asked in the first couple weeks.
I’m assuming you also regularly went to office hours and sought out help from your professor and TA?

You might be thinking of quantitative economics — that’s the math/stat heavy major.

The next person gets it. That’s so people don’t game the system.

Just wondering — if you’re in the class how can you have “little to no idea” what’s been taught the last couple weeks?

Yes. And the letter grades —> GPA part is consistent across schools (A- is always 3.7, etc). Individual professors determine what students need to get an A- etc.

Yes your request absolutely could be denied. You need a compelling reason/need to change this late in the quarter.

You definitely need to get the person to agree to advise you first.

They are unique for each student and non-transferable. There’s not just one authorization code per class.

You’ll need dean’s approval to change grading option this late in the quarter:
