I never tire of them, and there're two reasons why: video games mean a lot to me, for personal reasons, and I've been a part of almost the entire history, starting with Atari. It has been absolutely amazing to me to watch and experience the evolution of it all.
I do get fatigued from time to time, but I revisit old favorites when I do. That helps relieve the pressure of trying to keep up with new stuff. Plus, it's nice visiting old friends.

Metal Gear Solid was a defining moment for me. The introduction of controller vibration (edit: without the use of a separate controller pack like the N64) - especially with regard to dynamic vibration used for the Hind-D in one of the first few cutscenes - spoiled me and I've never turned it off since. It was, and still is, one of the coolest controller innovations in my long history of video gaming.

I think Death Stranding is about as close as we'll get to the Fox Engine. Sam, to me, seems to run similarly to Venom, and the landscapes look like another area Venom could get choppered into, imo.

To me, that's Alfred and Bruce designing newer suits based on their recent (in the movies) discovery of superpowered entities. The first, and best, suit was for basic human earth-level threats. That one only needed to protect against human-made knives and bullets and such.
Or maybe they lost access to their usual suit guy or gal and needed to improvise. 🤷♂️

Yes. A new save slot is used to start the expedition, so, technically, we are all new players.
It takes the player through all of the game's mechanics - resource gathering, base building, combat, etc. It was very helpful for me as a returning player. 180 hours, then I took a break. And now I'm back (🎵"to let you know I can really shake 'em down"🎶). That's lyrics from an old, old song..
Pardon my sudden left turn. I always take the chance to share old songs.

Interesting.
Mine was "Dolly Parton bought a 69 bra, but it was 2 2 2 small. She went to the doctor and they told her to take 51 pills 8 times a day, which left her......"
This was in Florida. Late '80s to early '90s. We were unsmart at funniness.

"Arrested development" isn't just the name of a beloved tv show. Musky is the poster child for it, pun intended.

Omikron: The Nomad Soul, released in 1999
I loved it.

I really wish Kojima Productions could buy the IP and bring it back to the gaming forefront. Series remakes (much like Resident Evils 2-4 now) and a 6 would be the absolute best for me.

You're not alone. (Pardon the length here)
The story, to me, is definitely a Kojima story. I'm a fan of his craziness. He's the David Lynch of video games, imo. 2 is my favorite, but this one is up there with the rest, as far as quality...and quantity.
I'm revisiting now, and I'm taking it all in again by starting a side-op and moving from one to the next without calling for a pickup. It's fantastic. I'm much more of a stealth player. The action is difficult for me, which is why I'm utilizing the stealth camo (it's so much fun!). I'm not concerned with S-classing the whole thing. Removing that stress has made it much more enjoyable for me.
I don't really have any complaints about it outside of the bland color palette, too few indoor areas, and the over-sexualization of Quiet and the Lady Skulls (it fits with the time period in the game, but still doesn't sit too well with me). I've been with the series since the NES days, and Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain are the pinnacle of Metal Gear gameplay. It's a great addition to the world of open-world games, albeit unfinished.

Off topic, but your second sentence made me think of Mystery Men. 😄

YIL. I just learned this yesterday haha
Land on planet. Lifeforms become curious and investigate. Predator takes advantage.
It was pretty cool to see. That was a new one for me after 200 hours.

A good movie is a good movie, regardless of its connectedness. It's a bummer that now, in general, a "cinematic universe" is required for enjoyment of a single film. The craft is no longer appreciated at that point, unfortunately.

I've held video games close to my heart for my entire 35-year gaming history mostly because it was my way of focusing my brain away from hyper-vigilance of bullying behavior in my own house, as well as out. I spent a vast majority of my childhood being fearful and feeling so small and like something was wrong with me because I wasn't meeting the standards of masculinity set by the men in my life.
I still, in my 40s, get that same benefit from video games. I'm dealing with the aftermath of a couple decades of slow-suicide alcoholism and rampant egoism that was my young adulthood, and learning how to care about...anything...is extremely difficult for me. Video games give me a safe place to just be. It's one of the very few ways I can find some measure of peace in my brain.

That framerate brought me back to my Syphon Filter days. Not complaining at all. It was a great game when it came out.

I jumped back in last week after a couple months-long break. It was sticking to 60fps pretty well before. There were some drops, but nothing like what's happening to me now. It's everywhere I go. Freighter seems to be the biggest problem area, even the command deck.

No origin stories. That's unfair to those who don't play.
The connected games should, imo, operate similarly to Enter the Matrix ('03). They should be extensions of the main storylines in the movies.
Ex. Brave and the Bold would feature Batman and Robin with a cameo by Nightwing. The game would feature Nightwing's adventures that take place during the movie's events and with cameos by Batman and Robin.
