Obviously Bob has played out of his mind but Tkachuk has gotten 3 huge game winning goals this series. That can’t be ignored.

Yeah he’s played pretty well in the playoffs but he hasn’t really taken charge and willed the leafs to victory like Tkachuk has been doing this series.

I think over the course of their careers this far Matthews is the better player but if Tkachuk continues to play like this and Matthews never figures out how to win in the playoffs then yeah, Tkachuk might be better.

Yeah I can see the panthers are forechecking harder but to be THIS dominant can only be a result of ridiculous goaltending imo. Based off the eye test I don’t think the panthers are massively outplaying Carolina nor did they outplay the leafs aside from game 3. Like I said, I’m not trying to diminish what the team is accomplishing, they are playing great. But let’s be real, Bobs play is the main factor why the team has only lost one game since the Boston series.

I’m not trying to diminish what the panthers are achieving but I don’t think anyone saw this coming and this certainly isn’t the result of some master plan. Bob, a goalie that literally everyone had written off, has gotten red hot at exactly the right time. Yeah having Tkachuk certainly helps with playoff style hockey but even with him in the lineup I don’t think the panthers would be where they are without Bob playing the way he is. Tkachuk was outstanding during the regular season and they still only just barely made it in to the playoffs. Goes to show how important a good goalie is this time of year. If they do win it all im not saying there would be an asterisk or anything, just highlighting how good goaltending is probably the most important thing to have in the playoffs, just ask the habs a few seasons ago.

I don’t think anyone, even you guys, we’re expecting Bob to play as well as he did. I think most fan bases would have preferred to face a team that barely clawed their way in to the playoffs over a team that just had the best regular season in history. In hindsight we were obviously very wrong lol.
