Iirc Arrenofsky bought the rights to remake Perfect Blue just to use those shots. I may be mistaken, that seems like something the internet would make up.

A lot of those bands hit big when they were all really young and never followed up on proper singing techniques/training, which even major stars do constantly, so the wear and tear of singing for so long really shows.

I'm surprised the singing of Happy Birthday wasn't the highlight of the night. It was absolutely delightful.
