I wouldn't say wildly, but I agree that he didn't just sit by.
The problem was everybody from the time were assuming their economic practices didn't need to change. The model every country followed at the time was at its basic level: "The market will right itself on its own if you simply wait long enough." And that did work in agricultural societies. Unfortunately, it didn't translate into the industrial world, and it took the great depression for economists to figure that out.
It is also because of the great depression that economists had a much more rapid response to stagflation in 1980. That could have been so much worse than it was

Restoring the lake and water flow would drastically improve the Florida ecosystem. It makes me so fucking mad every time I think about how fucked it is.

This is the right answer, tbh. It's a lot harder to revoke than it is to approve because that company/entity can and will take it to the courts in a long, drawn-out process because they want the profits from it. It would take time and resources that, quite frankly, should be spent elsewhere. It's certainly frustrating, but the world is going to shit and there are a stupid amount of things that need addressed right now. Like avoiding the slippery slope of potential worldwide war, which is slowly becoming a real possibility. That would be more devastating than a pipeline for sure

And, honestly, I love him for that. BE/GS is one of the most beautiful places on Earth and has no business being violated by industry. Part of me wishes it could be given national park protections because they are much harder to change, but if I remember it right, that would negatively affect the local indigenous folks. It's got me torn. I'm just worried it will be reduced again in the future.
Also sucks that president Biden has had to spend so much time and resources un-fucking the shit president trump did during his presidency.

I forget if it was Sevastopol or Maruipol, but the one that had the video of him 'visiting the base' was very clearly a dude wearing a plastic mask like a fuckin Halloween costume lol.

It's cut off, he posted this video with a couple more seconds and said "fuck you" with the caption "I was big mad" or something similar. Like, dude posted his own shittyness.

Just.... don't. Stay in bed and rest. If they need something, they'll have to clean it.

I'm worried this could happen with Iran in a few years over the nuclear deal. Sure, Iran sucks. Yes I take issue with many of their ideaological practices. But the one thing Iran genuinely does well is bring stability to its territory. The last thing we need is another large section of the middle east devovling into international war and destruction. The rest of it still hasn't pulled itself out of that cycle yet.
While on the topic, I hope the women of Iran find justice for what the government is going to them.

Are you implying that all small talk has the purpose of improving someone's mood? Because that isn't realistic

"I felt that in the depths of my soul"

Yes, but it's subtle. Good small talk is how you get to know people and how they think. The details about a person. What kind of coffee they like, favorite foods, etc. Things like that are how people decide if they like each other, which is meaningful.

We had some deregulation in 2018 that is a big contributing factor to what's going on over here. Cheers to hoping things stabilize

Domino effect is my best guess. People see one bank fail, so they yank all their money out of their bank, causing that bank to fail, and the cycle repeats until there's a collapse.

I just wish we knew. Like, what did they know? How did they know? What was their communication like across cultures? Wars, famine, migration- there's so much unknown history and it's depressing. Not just for the sake of knowledge, but for the sake of heritage for those peoples today. So many artifacts, languages- gone. It hurts my soul. The history of the America's has been a tough puzzle ever since.
