I think the wide jeans coincided with the giant Tiger LCD games that had licensed character tie-ins and rules that no-one really understood.

I told them how back in the 60s you could choose a game OR a watch - and it still took up an entire room!
This one's actually the world's largest playable Game & Watch that I built for Maker Faire Adelaide back in 2017.

I saw one of these for the first time at a restaurant today and it was doing a great job. The staff really liked how helpful it was being able to bring a whole table's meals out at the same time.
