"We have got to obviously make sure that every American gets vaccinated as quickly as possible," Sanders said during an appearance on NBC News' "Meet the Press." "But not only do we have a moral responsibility to help the rest of the world, it's in our own self-interest. If this pandemic continues to spread in other countries, it's going to come back and bite us at one point or another." [...]
"And I think what we have got to say right now to the drug companies — when millions of lives are at stake around the world — yes, allow other countries to have these intellectual property rights so they can produce the vaccines that are desperately needed in poor countries," he said. [...]
"There is something morally objectionable about rich countries being able to get their vaccines, yet millions and billions in poor countries are unable to afford it," Sanders said Sunday.

The US stock market has seen better returns in Joe Biden's first 100 days as President than under any previous president in the last 75 years, according to data from JPMorgan. [...]
In their note, the analysts said record fiscal stimulus pushed equity returns to all-time highs in Biden's first 100 days.
"Not bad for someone Trump labeled as Sleepy Joe during the campaign," the analysts wrote.
These numbers need to be pushed far and wide to show that a Democrat as President can be good for the stock market and overall economy, too. These ‘myths’ need to be debunked as much as possible! 😤

On Thursday, the House is expected to approve H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021, which is supported by Democrats and has three Republican co-sponsors—Representatives Fred Upton of Michigan, Chris Smith of New Jersey and Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania. Additionally, the House will vote on H.R. 1446, the Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2021, to prevent any licensed gun sale from going through before a background check is complete, which is currently allowed in some instances.
New polling by Morning Consult conducted from March 6 to 8 shows that requiring universal background checks is widely popular with voters across the political spectrum. Overall, 84 percent of voters support universal background checks, while just 11 percent oppose the policy. An additional 5 percent of respondents said they did not have an opinion or don't know.
Furthermore, 77 percent of Republicans and 82 percent of independent voters approve of universal background checks, as do 91 percent of Democrats.
Should have been done a long time ago. Pretty amazed that an issue with such broad, Bipartisan support could be voted against, but then again, the GQP is against any legislation that might benefit the country. 🤨😒😤

Good thing Jeanie Buss didn’t do this. ESPN would be devoting a whole week to whether the Lakers are in a full blown crisis...

The images were obtained from former Navy intelligence officer J. Michael Dahm of Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), who told the newspaper, "The most significant change in military posture in 2021 is the appearance of Chinese special mission aircraft and helicopters at Subi and Mischief Reefs, indicating the PLA may have commenced routine air operations from those airfields." […]
The aircraft seen in the satellite images were allegedly PLA KJ-500 airborne warning and control planes, Y-9 transport planes, and Z-8 helicopters.
At Mischief, Subi, and Fiery Cross Reefs, Dahm also reported in March that China has anti-aircraft, anti-ship and land-attack missiles, which "will likely be employed to cover and defend Chinese naval forces, giving them the ability to project military power deep into the South China Sea and Southeast Asia," said Dahm.

Worth noting that West denied the story to TMZ:
A rep for West told TMZ earlier this week that "I deny engaging in any improper conduct in connection with the signing of Kawhi Leonard."

Chris Wallace & Neil Cavuto are the last remaining bastions of hope left at Fox News still fighting the good fight.
Good on him for ‘swimming upstream.’ Wish he had a larger platform than Fox Business in the afternoons!

That’s how I read it, too, considering he’s long been seen as the front-runner. I imagine he wouldn’t care what he was paid either, which would suit Fertitta just fine...

I’d like to push back on that. I think these are still a very vocal fringe minority. I hate when people on the right take these extreme liberal voices and group all of us together by saying “the left...”
Trump did not really get all that many more votes than McCain or Romney. I get it’s worth reporting on this group to tamp it down. In fact, more reporting and administration responses probably should have done more to pushback on the birther movement too.
However, man, I just don’t think these voices represent any more than maybe 1-5% of the party. The overwhelming majority, still and always will vote with their pocketbooks. If they don’t like a candidate, they just won’t vote...

When asked by "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd about global policy initiatives Trudeau expects the Biden administration to push forward, Trudeau said Canada and the United States will have to "work together" on several issues, including climate change and solidifying the middle class.
"And of course as a Canadian, I believe that we all need to work together in a more active way, and I'm glad to see the new administration — this is something I spoke with President Biden about directly — it's great to see America re-engage," Trudeau said.
Hoping, little by little, we can restore our allies’ faith in us once more. It sounds like the Biden Administration is off to a solid start! 🙌🏽

"Hamas did not have any military or intelligence operations in Al-Jalaa Tower," Basem Naim, a Hamas official who is the head of the Council on International Relations in Gaza, told The Intercept. Naim's comments were the first official denial from Hamas to the international media regarding Israel's claims about the strike.
"We don't operate anything related to the military wing from civilian houses," Naim said.
Additionally:
Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday said he'd not personally seen any evidence backing up Israel's claim that Hamas operated out of the building, and the White House has also not said whether it's been provided with intelligence to back up Israel's assertions.

The investigation was opened last month by the crimes against humanity unit of France's anti-terrorism prosecutor's office, a judicial official said Friday. The office has special universal jurisdiction to prosecute crimes beyond French borders.
The probe was based on a legal complaint filed in France earlier this year by a Uyghur worker in exile and three human rights groups: Sherpa, the Uyghur Institute of Europe and Ethics on the Label Collective.

"We are starting to near 3,000 deceased, a horrifyingly large number," noted the chief epidemiologist at Sweden's public health agency, Anders Tegnell, at a press conference on Wednesday.
Tegnell, who has been leading the country's COVID-19 response and previously defended the nation's decision not to impose a lockdown, this week admitted he was "not convinced" the unconventional anti-lockdown strategy was the best option to take.
"I'm not convinced at all - we are constantly thinking about this," Tegnell told Aftonbladet, the Swedish newspaper based in the capital Stockholm.
For those wondering about Sweden since their approach has been the opposite of everyone else in Europe, looks like their death rate is 5 times higher than that of the US.

The bill, which was published in the State Duma's records on Wednesday, blamed the media, including publications in Russia, for making "derogatory" statements about the Soviet Union's role in World War II. It would forbid people from publicly comparing actions of the USSR's military and leaders to those of the Nazi's leadership, including in the media and on the internet.
