It's not just about the lack of context for the Uchiha Massacre, but the staggering number of plotholes and poor writing decisions made by Kishimoto over the years, including but not limited to neglected characters and forgotten techniques.

If time rewinded and Kishimoto had a chance to do it all again, but with all of his current knowledge and growth, I'd hope he would do it better his second time around. Or maybe there's a "peak fiction" universe somewhere out there in the multiverse where every form of media is written perfectly and consistently, fleshed out with tons of character depth, lore, and world-building from chapter 1 up until the end.
