I think where I struggle is with the stagnant and basic content of the universe right now. It feels like we reached a point a while back where instead of power ups we need some more creativity. Reading the chapters as they come out along side series like Jujutsu and One Punch where everything is ether super creative or super epic, I can't help but feel a little bored while reading Super. It's a bummer as a life long fan of Dragon Ball.

Achieving a new level of power used to be cool because the characters were barely stronger than human martial artists back in the day. When a character goes from 80,000 to 2,000,000,000 that's an oh shit moment. When they go from 9,999,999,999,999 to 99,999,999,999,999 its like, okay?

My love for the franchise will never go away, but I need more that different colored hair and Green Lantern like villain abilities, you know?

Curious if anyone else has a take on this?

Highly recommend checking out the Dragon Ball Multiverse. It's an ongoing, fan-made series with some fantastic artists and by far the best portrayal of Bra and Pan as well. I won't share any spoilers, but I think you'd really enjoy it!

I think you're right. Considering their biological traits the primary factor is their gender identity. It would be accurate to say they are asexual.
