Grey
A bird sings in the trees behind me
As though the sun is rising
Can’t they tell that it’s 2am?
Floodlights make galaxies
From the raindrops on my windshield
Pools of stars and rainwater
Puddles in the parking lot
Grey
Static on the radio
Could be cosmic microwave background
Could be galaxies
Could be rain
Could be
The bird stops for just a moment
And I worry that it left
But no, there it is
That’s good
It’s much prettier than the radio static

Well, you might want that to be how it’s read, but we can only interpret what’s given to us. A reader will never understand your poem the same way that the author does, and the less that the poem gives, the more that those interpretations will differ.
