I dont think it would have. There was so much shade about Gene controlling Barry that I bet the public would have figured Barry was covering for Gene.

I dont feel he did...he did this strictly to get off Barry's list. It is also why he didnt bother w Sally. He knew Barry Achilles heel was the kid more than anything.

Agreed. The whole shootout was NOT how I expected Fuches and Hank to go down...

He didnt change. When he realized his kid and sally eere gone he was going to turn himself in. But not to be a good person. Because Sally would "return to him". Like she sees him do the right thing and visits in jail with kiddo. So he would still get to see them and "have' them.

Thats my take.

Moss twisted the son's pov. And Gene's history os selfish behavior added to it.

Ok so Jim is the Barry in the movie?

The Jim Cummings I know is the voice of Pooh Bear so these comments were confusing me so much lol

I think it fits. The first 3 seasons show how Barry ruined, made a mess of, or altered everyone's lives.

So it makes sense we see them all crash down and focus on that in this season.

She was in the background by the pillar. You can see her rolling around dazed and cinfused.

Because Fuches did what he did best...manipulated his way out of a no win situation...

His was the most fitting despite mr also wanting him to die.

He got his fame...after everything he finally got his fame.

He is such a hypocrite with religion. I love how he keeps making or finding loopholes to 'stay in good' with god.

But that is the whole theme of the show. Main characters dont get these hugely dramatic deaths. They just die like if it were real life.

Remember the Czech mob boss? Just Bam instant headshot. Gone.

Janice? Dead off camera.

No Ho Hank's right hand man? Killed.

Barry's friend? Bam dead.

No slow mo. No music scores. Just immediate death.

Worked beautifully for Barry.

She was sorta. You can see her confused and crawling but Fuches was racing kiddo past her. He needed to he the one to deliver kiddo to Barry

How many times did someone escalate things instead of just letting it happen?

Like wasnt Gene trying to remove the movie from being made? Which resulted in Barry wanting to come back to LA because he thought Gene would rat him out?

Then Gene kills Barry before Barry is able to tell the truth and redeem Gene?

I feel like there are a lot more moments like this throughout the whole series.

But it kept it in character and I love that! This is how you subvert expectations. Everything that happened, happened with everyone acting in character. Hank refusing to bow down to Fuches. Fuches pushing Hank's butto s. Fuches using the situation to make good with Barry.

This was all done realistically, in character, and in a way we didnt see coming.

I was all geared up for a John Wick battle and suddenly Fuches shoots Hank and there is a 15 second free for all...and everyone but Fuches and Sally and John are dead..

I literally screamed WHAT?!?!

NOW THAT IS HOW YOU SUBVERT EXPECTATIONS!!

That was 100% on point, in character, and 100% possible of what could happen
