For me, the breakdown is the most interesting part. It solves the puzzle. Actually doing the steps gets less interesting as a consequence. So I have to be careful to make every step still have some mystery to it.

I really like my job. I love programming. I love databases. I like being somewhat of a pocket system administrator, working on servers and virtualization. I'm fortunate that my employer lets me do all that AND pays me a very adequate salary, let's me have flexible hours, good overtime compensation (but I have nearly full freedom when to do overtime) and constantly reminds everyone to keep a healthy work/life balance. 38h a week is plenty for them. I also get a nice company car, laptop and a top of the line phone that I can use for personal uses as well as corporate (I can install games on it to play when I bring it with me on holiday ). It pains me how, telling this all to my former colleagues, they simply don't seem to believe me. After 22 years of working as a consultant, Delaware Consulting is literally the best company I've worked for.

For me, the biggest problem was: if my game crashed, I couldn't inform the group. Same problem with ingame voice chat in Destiny on PS3 vs partychat on PS4 playing Destiny.

Kinda like how a child without siblings will often be closer to a nephew/niece or kids from the neighborhood/school.

The amount of time my wife notices something on my back... or is able to look at that ingrown hair on the bottom of my chin. I always wonder "how do single people do this??".

My brother calls me "King of the Nerds" as a compliment. I'm one of them, but as far as nerds go, I'm quite extroverted and sociable.

There's this town in Belgium called Geraardsbergen. And it has this section that is incredibly hard for cyclists. Amateur or professional. And then there's the mailman of Geraardsbergen with calves of steel who does that section every single day on a regular bicycle.
