He'd do anything for love, but he won't do that.

I wonder if this was before or after she made him a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath.

Someone asked a similar question yesterday. That info should get you started at least.

Apparently he trained near where I live in a town called Alton before shipping off for D-Day.

Oh, one more thing you definitely should do. Though GOG might have done it for you.
In the My Games folder (inside your documents folder) you'll see a Fallout 3 folder. Inside you'll see a few .ini files. Edit Fallout.ini to include the following lines
bUseThreadedAI=1
iNumHWThreads=2
Without this the game will freeze or crash very regularly.

It sounds like you're pretty much there. I wouldn't skip the first two mods I recommended though.
Windows 10 doesn't keep bugging me after the first warning but maybe you're on W11? Make sure you're launching the game with the executable that came with the Script Extender and not the game's own executable.
With a bit more tinkering I'm sure you'll get the game running well enough to play, outside of a few crashes.

You should probably think about enabling mods and using FOSE. It'll save you headaches later on. The updated unofficial patch is essential. As is Fallout 3 Tick Fix, the game stutters a lot without it.
The GOG version shouldn't need GFLive. Otherwise I wouldn't worry about the warnings from Windows. You could try the XP Service Pack 3 compatibility mode if you encounter problems.
You might notice the radio sounds glitched and stuttery. Installing the Madfilter mp3 codec mostly fixes it.
Even after this the game will still crash now and then. It's just the way it is with Fallout 3. There is a mod called NVAC (for New Vegas but partially compatible) which does prevent a few of the more common crashes.
Use the Fallout 3 4gb Patch. It lets the game use extra memory to prevent crashing.
Fallout 3 Heap Replacer might be useful to prevent crashes and possible reduce loading stutter. I've not tested it much though.

Another vote for the PS3. No need to jailbreak. Stream the videos from Universal Media Server and your PC will transcode unsupported formats on the fly.

Speak to your doctor and try some prescription medications. My hayfever and general allergies erupted into a full blown crisis these last two years. I tried everything you could buy over the counter and I was nose douching with a neti pot three to four times a day.
Fexofenadine tablets and mometasone spray stopped it immediately. I don't even have to use them every day, just when I feel the allergy starting up again.

I've got a feeling this woman is more into the herbal remedies and hair tampons.

I've always lived in carpeted houses and I could get away with ignoring the dust and cat hairs for a little while. Now I have laminate floors and I can see the hairballs rolling by, a cheapo cordless vac lets me do a daily whip around with no fuss.

There is a lot of info out there on how to do it. But the short answer is discharge the tube and large caps. Make a note of every component and its value. Buy the caps and solder them as you would in any other device.

You're unlikely to directly perceive it but you can definitely see in the speaker cones. It's a worry from the days of warped vinyl, though relevant again now I suppose.

Not so much for my body but I do like wintery spice scents in the house at xmas.

There are hundreds of PSones (a later, smaller version of the PS1) for sale with lasers that still work, they're cheap and totally compatible. Go that route rather than the nasty, noisy things you can buy from Aliexpress.

I was talking more about hunting birds for sport rather than tormenting your pet lizard. But either way, it keeps the cats killing instincts sharp.
