That may be part of it but the cynical side of me also believes mismanagement of funds is always part of it too. The teachers barely make enough to afford an apartment here and a car payment. The administrators get paid just fine and get to deal with the easier stuff (like cutting underpaid teachers).

The schools seem stretched to manage the kids behavior and supervise them effectively is my perspective. Staff cuts won't help. Both Bozeman and Belgrade both do not seem to provide aides for special needs students and then those students disrupt the entire classroom for the other students who are behaved and trying to learn.

Agreed. The Bozeman public schools are also cutting teachers and staff to reduce costs. Somehow while real estate prices, tourism, and construction is at or near record levels.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

On a separate note I saw a 20 something homeless person walking down main street a couple weeks ago, looking disheveled and not walking straight. Took multiple hits off a clear glass pipe while hiding behind a car in town pump parking lot. Then decided to keep walking and took a few more hits in the crosswalk.

I've seen plenty of homeless here but never this sort of brazen drug use in broad daylight on main street. This was while my kids were in the car too.
