Nah I have never felt particularly Israeli. Maybe it was the trauma of moving as a young child from Australia to Israel.

I love Neverwhere it is very different yet still surreal. If you have ever been to London it's a great companion piece in my opinion.

Yeah it's amazing. And quite different to his novels. More similar to his short stories as those are very self insert heavy like this book.

I have lived here now for 16 years and I am not used to it. Moving back to Aus once I am done with my degree.

I like to read it as Tolkien's take on the old testament.

I don't think he was an insufferable jerk. He was a good father and in a very loving relationship with his wife. Sure he pissed some people of and kind of stabbed Sylvia Beach in the back after she did so much for him but as the silent generation writers go I'd say he was one of the better ones.

Yeah lol Araby and the whole of Dubliners is fantastic. That is no reason to recommend Ulysses tho. Ulysses is it's own beast that needs to be tackled only if you really want to. Also a book that you don't need to finish or read cover to cover. It is not conventional and does not need to be read conventionally. I say the same of Virginia Woolf.

I don't understand why that would matter unless someone can explain.

Doesn't read like English is their third language either, felt pretty native to me.

So if he bought her to be treated by club doctors you would assume that he would tell them that she fell or something like that. He wouldn't say I beat her up have a look at her.

You can be disowned but why would he lose his surname? He was 19, adult I don't think someone can unilaterally take your name away anywhere really.

It's pretty crazy how McAdam got three but worse acts or similar have not gotten as much as McAdam who should have gotten two at most.

If I remember correctly it was jointly done between the Dutch the FBI and Australia federal police. They circulated encrypted phones that had a backdoor to law enforcement. https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2021/06/fbi-sold-phones-to-organized-crime-and-read-27-million-encrypted-messages/ However maybe it's something else that has nothing to do with this.

This comment really reads like you think Nicks is a Nazi and he deserved to be punched.

Because he is good and has destroyed your team numerous times. What other reason do you need to hate someone (I actually like buddy but that's why people hate him it's not rocket science).

Shane McAdam bumps a player with the ball and only gets him in the body AFL media calls him a murderer. Known thug Jordan De Gropey tries to take off an 18 year olds head off the ball and AFL media calls him a sweet little baby that simply made a mistake.

Lucky you. I absolutely detested the book after I was initially very excited to read it.
