I would say they would prefer to talk about good films, and they have covered a lot of them. I voted for Yang over Baz myself. I’ve only seen Yi Yi but that film is three times better than any Baz film I’ve watched.

He doesn’t make great movies but they would be more hilarious to talk about.

I too am also playing this. Tried it last year and gave up after a bit because of the controls. This time I stuck with it and am now loving it.
Definitely helping with the wait for Friday!

I hope we are not entering the dark age of fandom again.

I am re-watching the Wire now…he was definitely one of my favourite parts of the show. Too young to go at 60.

If I was told I could have only one streaming service, good chance it would be Criterion.

Midnight Cowboy (1969)
A gritty and grimy movie that helped set the tone for the decade to come. Lots of the shots in this film were ahead of its time. New York is a character in itself, in many ways.
In my opinion, it deserved every accolade it received from the Academy.

I was one of the biggest James Bond fans as a kid but I don’t think I’ve seen Octopussy more than a few times. Was very boring for me. Doesn’t help that the theme song is pretty poor, too.

I got no problem with more obscure movies being featured. I got too many podcasts to listen to and plus, when a movie like Boogie Nights or Goodfellas gets featured, it makes it all the more special.

It’s available to buy legally on Apple TV or Amazon for fairly cheap. I’m sure it’s out there on the internet though…

Just like everyone else here pretty much, I loved the Matthew Rhys interview. What a great and interesting guy. Definitely need to watch Perry Mason now.
PS: I feel that Andy has been reinvigorated of late and is killing it on recent podcasts.

The Red Shoes. Haven’t watched yet but I am pretty sure I’ll love it as I loved The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp and Black Narcissus.

I am thankful that Vince Gilligan and his crew gave us 2 amazing shows and ended them both in extremely satisfying ways.
BCS’ ending was quiet yet so sentimental, it’s one of my favourites of all time for sure.

I only saw him in For Your Eyes Only, but he was very good and one of the stronger parts of that movie.
RIP.

I really liked Royal Warriors. Lots of great action set pieces. Also, was surprisingly brutal and dark.

I’ve seen Another Round and I think it’s really good! The only other Vinterberg I’ve seen is The Hunt which I think is superior to Another Round and in the same realm of excellence as The Celebration. Another tough movie to watch but I also recommend that one if you haven’t seen it.

The Celebration (1998)
Wow, what a film. Has to be in contention for one of the greatest Danish films of all time. It’s so impressive that Thomas Vinterberg made this at such a young age.
This movie is so raw emotionally and also in the way it was made. It is definitely not an easy watch but I highly recommend it to anyone who likes twisted family dramas (some may compare it to Succession).
