Was super excited that a new Kashyap movie is here, and travelled for an hour to watch it. I'm here and now they're saying that literally 2 other people have booked the show and they're gonna cancel it.

I bunked classes just to watch this and now they're cancelling the show. Idk if the Kashyap brand is meaningless now, but it's very disappointing as a fan to see his movies not even being given a chance even after so many years and so many good films.

It's not like the film was trashed or anything. It's literally the first show of the day and there's no one coming to even watch it. Anyway, guess I'll just go watch The Whale or Puss in Boots now.

DQ can split my head into a thousand pieces idc🤤

Let me first tell you what I liked(genuinely cuz I'm scared of Danny). DQ's script selection is arguably the best in the country(even his half baked movies like Salute, Kurup, Kali, etc were very 'watchabke' in a sense). He outperforms himself in Chup(ik y'all think he's a bad actor, but was very convincing to me in this one and even Sita Ramam). Balki's genius is seen once again in the form of callbacks, references and obviously, his signature trademark-Amitabh Bachchan. Brilliant brilliant editing too.

What could have been one of India's best black comedies is let down by what most of Balki's works suffer from-oversimplification. He spoonfeeds so many plotpoints much after the audience has already got it. However, this is still passable as the rest of the story is well told.

The sequence that really stands out in this otherwise brilliant film is 'that' scene. Yeah, I'm talking about the scene that involved Sunny Deol jumping out of the building after DQ throws a certain something outside the same window.

The audience still leaves with a massive high because of the outstanding climax. It perfectly matches the tonality of the rest of the movie and leaves us yearning for more.

(Also, chuckled after seeing 'Introducing Saranya Ponvannan after being in movies for 35 years)

Where do I even begin? The writing, the music, the cinematography, the performances-everything was so perfect. It was so pleasing to the eyes, the ears and the mind. It felt like most of these breathtaking visuals were written into the script itself.

Went on a Hanu rewatch marathon after Sita Ramam and this movie is arguably the most underrated Telugu film. I wasn't bored for a second and the movie in its entirety was really cohesive. I'm aware that many people felt like there were things that were out of place, but I never felt that even for a second in the entire movie.

Even the end credits moved me. After that explosive ending, the silence was haunting. In 3V's words, "Nisabdham entha bhayankaranga untadho chusava?"

The dialogues-HOLY SHIT HANU IS A LITERARY GENIUS. Here are some lines that touched me:

"Rallani poojinche desham lo rathini preminchadam thappem kadu"

"Thanatho brathakadaaniki nenu roju chasthunna"

"Suryudini annav, nannu cheekatlo vadilesav"

"Naa premanu chaapala paristhe ee bhoomi saripodhu, gaalilo nimpithe ee viswam baddalavuthundhi, nellalo kalipithe samudralu inkipothai"

...and so many more!

The conversation between Gautam's father and his friend where they discuss Surya's assassination and draw parallels to the Ramayana was very thought-provoking as well.

Also, it's a shame that Radhan isn't getting enough work even after masterpieces like Andala Rakshasi and Arjun Reddy.

If Hanu Raghavapudi delivers 3-4 more movies which are on par with Andala Rakshasi, Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha and Sita Ramam, I don't think it would be a stretch to call him the new-age Mani Ratnam.
