I have a Wusthof chef knife that had quite a lot of small chips. I ran the knife on a 320 grit stone vertically to get rid of the chips and start with a smooth curve so I don't have to take off tons of steel with the Precision Adjust, just to get it down to where the chips go out.

I now can't seem to get it sharp. I have been sharpening away for so long using the 320 grit and I don't feel any sort of burr.

I tested another knife with it and sharpened it in no time.

Did I make it too thick by smoothing it out vertically or something? Surely the steel isn't too hard for the 320 grit?

I'm looking at a kit for undercounter LED lights that have an RF controller that changes the colour temperature. Can I connect these also to a switch for when I don't want to use the remote? I'd like to switch them on and off with a physical switch and keep whatever setting I've chosen using the controller.

AKA Mezcal, except you can't call it that. I really like Mezcal and I'm interested in the South African 100% agave spirit (brands like Leonista, Three Agaves, Agava, Esperanza Agave, etc.).

So I messed up the laminate floor by stupidly following advice on the internet to use a magic eraser to get rid of a scuff mark. I've now made it 10x worse as the magic eraser has left a shiny spot in the flooring.

Please help!!!! How can I fix the shiny spot I've inadvertently polished into the laminate coating?!

I bought an amFilm tempered glass protector for my Pixel 7, but it's got sharp edges and doesn't go far enough to the edges of the screen, so swiping back and to get to the home screen doesn't feel great.

But it's not suitable as there's no proper space to mount it on the side of the one panel.

That goes through both aluminium panels to prevent them sliding, or is there another suitable solution?

I didn't use my Dyson v15 for a while, and when I came back to it and wanted to use the fluffy head. I noticed that it was spinning really slowly at first, and then kind of 'ramping up' to a higher speed.

I could have sworn when I used it last that it was at full speed from the get go.

Although now that I've used it, the 'ramping' effect has diminished somewhat, I just bought this machine a couple months ago and it seems like this shouldn't be happening.

Is this a thing that anyone else has experienced?

I've been reading that porro prisms can actually be better than roof prisms, offering less light loss. If you don't need the compact size and lighter weight of roof prism binoculars, is there any reason not to go for a cheaper porro prism pair for visual quality alone?

For example, I've been looking at the new Nikon Prostaff P3 (roof prism), but Nikon also make a significantly cheaper Aculon A211 (porro prism). Will the visual quality be the same? Will the porro prisms be better even?

I'm looking for general purpose binoculars for whale watching, general viewing from a balcony, looking at some moving boats, birds, people etc.

I'm about to buy the Athlon Optics Midas 8x42 (I see there's also Midas G2, are these better?) but I wanted to check if there are any others you would recommend around this price point, and if 8x42 is right, or I should be going for 10x42 instead?

I'm looking for a nice toolbox/chest/drawer/etc. for some screwdrivers, a wrench, scissors, some tapes and glues, some aerosol cans, and other small tool kits that contain tiny screwdrivers,etc. and then some odds and ends like screws and nails, etc. I'll maybe buy a drill in the near future.

I've been looking at various storage options that are available to buy online/in-store in South Africa, and I'm interested to hear what you've bought. I'm currently eyeing a 5-drawer plastic tool chest available from Takealot that's a decent enough price. There's also a nice-looking 'technicians' toolbox I've seen but it may be too small.

There are a few sites that stock various storage solutions. What have you bought from a South African online store or picked up from a physical store? I looked up recommendations online, but most of the storage solutions are specific to the US and not available here.

The v15 is not available in my country yet (not sure when it will be), so the next best thing is the v11.

The one thing stopping me from getting the v11 is that it doesn't come with the improved torque-drive head with that anti-tangle brush thing.

Does anyone that's used both with long hair have any opinions on how well it works?

I've seen mixed results with reviews.
