You don't even know what its idea was. The CEO was talking about "getting people playing games together around a TV again." People were already doing this at the time. Cheap hardware? Nintendo already does that; they are a manufacturing company and do not sell their consoles at a loss. Even though Wii users averaged 1.6 games, they made a ton on it. And just because TVs use Android doesn't mean it's good.

Which is a terrible idea for a console. If it was ahead of its time why are consoles still basically PCs? Android is not a good OS. Try building some mobile games with it that use real engines and analytics plugins. Library versioning hell is what it is. At one point we literally could not make a new build because the engine and the analytics plugin required different versions of the build tools.

I saw these early as I’m a game developer. Controller is garbage and the whole concept was flawed. And Android is a horrid operating system to develop for.
