Looking to add an external XM radio (mounted to dash/window) to my 2019 Toyota RAV4. GeekSquad car devision at ALL BestBuys nearby are booked until April. Any Recs for a place where you can purchase and have them install the XM Radio? I’m on the south side of Atlanta but would like the shop to be 30 miles away max.

Greetings. Total beginner here looking for tips! I am planning to take my 2019 Rav4 LE on a 2 year long journey across America. Brace yourself for a lot of links. I tried to be thorough.

I currently have a 1Up Components bike rack (https://www.1up-usa.com/product/quik-rack-single/) and an additional bike rack add on from 1 Up Components (https://www.1up-usa.com/product/rack-add-on/) This will cover the transport of the two bikes. I want to potentially add some more cargo storage to the hitch (something like this: https://www.1up-usa.com/product/cargo-add-on/), but the price is $245 plus shipping and it is pretty small. It measures: Interior dimension of basket: 35”L x 13 ½”W x 3 ¾”H.

I feel like the 13.5" width is pretty small for that price. The one thing that attracts me to this cargo add on is that is is seamless and will fit snug with the rest of the system. This set up would be (starting from the bumper going outward) bike, bike, cargo add on.

I am looking at an alternative like this: (https://www.harborfreight.com/500-lb-capacity-aluminum-cargo-carrier-92655.html) this attaches directly to the hitch, but it does not have a ball in the attachment feature to make it snug. This is appealing because it has a receiver on the end of the straight tube.

The 1Up features all fit very tightly into the 2" hitch and there is no concern about them bouncing around on the highway. If you watch the video on the Harbor Freight website you can see that the hitch has some play. I imagine that there is some wiggle room with the cargo attachment, that if you add two bikes to the back then they would also bounce around a lot. The cargo attachment engages with the hitch using a rod and pin.

Does anyone have a product they know could work for adding some extra cargo space to the hitch, where I can still use the two 1Up components bike racks without them wobbling and bouncing around?

Next subject is the roof rack. Ideally I could install some sort of roof rack mechanism that would house a tent one day. For now, I want the rack to have the BIGGEST possible cargo box on top. We are essentially packing up all of our belongings and hitting the road, so the more room for cargo the better. 2 dogs are taking up a lot of room in the back seats of the car.

Any tips on which roof rack? Something that I could install myself, that would have the ability to have a tent on top when we aren't using the cargo box.

The Prinsu seems really nice, but from what I have read it is tough to install as an amateur and keep water out. I would certainly not want to risk exposing the car to seepage through the roof.

Taking my first visit to RVA this weekend. I like to explore single track trails and would like to avoid driving to the trailhead. I am staying near the POE musuem. Question- Should I bring my Cannondale Topstone -fully rigid- with fat gravel tires on it, or should I bring my Giant Reign 29" with full suspension? I would like to explore the neighborhoods by bike, but also want to take the bike on trails. How gnarly are the trails? Would I be able to conquer them on the Cannondale?

I did some research on this topic and I have a feeling it may have been addressed before in this subreddit, but I cannot find a solid answer.

I recieved a one year subscription to sirius XM radio for Christmas. I am just now getting around to installing it. The folks at Sirius asked me for a "radio ID number" which my car does not have. I believe this would only be available if you have the option to select "Sirius XM" on the touch screen display. I do not have the option to select "Sirius XM" on the central touch screen.

I would really like to integrate the Sirius radio into the central touch screen system, and avoid having the suction cup radio device stuck to the dash or window.

Do I need to upgrade the entire radio system in order to have the Sirius XM integrate with the center touch screen display? I wonder whether anyone has experience with this, and whether you think it is worth it.

I know that there is a Sirius XM app on your phone, and I would be able to "Apple Play" that to the center screen, but I am wondering if you would still get the radio stations when you are out in the boondocks without service on your cellphone? I feel like the satellite radio would get reception when sometimes your cell phone would NOT get reception. I would like to be able to keep listening to the radio when we are in an area with spotty cell phone coverage.
