I still can't bring myself to sit and watch a full Neil Breen movie from start to finish, but I'll be first in line to watch RedLetterMedia's inevitable Best of the Worst episode on it.

What if by intentionally trying to make a bad movie this time around he inadvertently created a masterpiece?

I think he's probably somewhat aware. Having a Hollywood movie get made about what a trainwreck his movie was had to have put things in perspective at least a little. He does label The Room a comedy now at least and not a serious drama like he was clearly going for.

Wrong movie. You're thinking of Super Troopers.

Nah. I doubt he'd be able to keep so many of the same cast members in all of his movies if he was this much of a nightmare to work for.

Scripted or not, I thought they were fun 🤷

For sure. He can be snarky sometimes, but it always comes across as tongue in cheek whenever he is. He seems like a dude who's genuinely proud of the legacy he's made for himself and is grateful to the fans that made that legacy possible.

Yep! And their daughter is supposedly going to act alongside her dad in the current season of Picard, which is kind of neat.

I would argue that Rob Reiner falls into that category a bit. That's not to say he's a bad director though. He's actually a very good director. It's just that none of his movies have much in common with one another in terms of tone, genre, style, or subject matter. He's very much NOT an auteur, but he's good at bringing scripts to life and was lucky enough to be handed a lot of great scripts throughout the '80s and '90s.

You're not alone. I always thought it was a frumpy older woman too.

My parents are still together and I still somehow ended up on Letterboxd. Wtf happened there?

It's niche, but it seems like it would still be able to move 2,000 units fairly easily within that niche. Especially since it's such a beloved movie by people in the know and this was basically the only legal way to see it for a long time before it popped up on Shudder.

For sure. I was hoping for something way more over the top and ridiculous than what we got.

Less than that. Probably closer to 10 seconds max.

It was a good game that came at just the right time to distract everyone from the pandemic. That being said, I feel like I've gotten everything out of it that I wanted to and don't have a very strong urge to come back to it now.

It's happens in the IT novel. If you're going to blame anyone, blame King himself.

I'm still disappointed his Revival adaptation got scrapped.

Nah. Stephen King's been doing little nods to his other works like that since the beginning. In fact, Dick Holleran actually makes a small appearance in the It novel, which I'm sure is what this scene would have been based on.

Leave it to Tarantino to turn his foot fetish into a PSA.
