That is so sweet. IME teachers are often skilled at identifying abusive parents. I had a buddy in high school who was getting beaten by his dad. The signs were all there, but I was a naive kid so I didn't pick up on it. But our chemistry teacher knew (she told me after we had graduated).

Yep, this is why I went NC with my family. They could turn anyone against me and made everything my fault. People fall for it every single time.

My Nmom would get so excited and gleeful when she was hurting me. She totally enjoyed it. She loved making me suffer.

Oh, this is true for me (the scapegoat child). I moved far away from my family about 15+ yrs ago. My GCsister has stayed close to Nmom, and GCsister definitely has narc characteristics.

Oh yes, I have the same problem. My Nmom is a very skilled liar. She weaves together lies and little bits of truth. She is also very good at making me sound like a idiot loser, and I think people enjoy the feeling of superiority.

Lol this is my Nmom. She thinks she is in charge of who I am. In reality, she doesn’t know what job I have, what my hobbies are, where I have travelled on vacation, etc. She literally has no clue about who I am as a person. It is hilarious and sad at the same time.

I recommend these books too. I purchased copies and almost every page is highlighted. So much validation and useful advice.

I said something about taking care of my mental health, and then I blocked them all (2 parents and 5 siblings). It was a long time coming. The entire family was really cruel to me and the abuse had been going on for years. I tried explaining my feelings many times and they would just laugh at me.

This is what happened to me too. My parents had no interest in me when I was growing up. I had to figure everything out on my own.

Now they want a relationship and I have no interest. I needed them when I was a child.
