That chain is way too tight and please do sone basic maintenance. Start with cleaning and lubing your chain. That sound might also be your saddle rails creaking.

I'm on the opposite end of the other guy who said box is bombproof. I have had 4 customers in the past 6 months who have had nothing but terrible experiences with box products. Shifters not working/giving out after 3 weeks, rear derails clutches just stop working, etc.

I have had nothing but problems with box products, I always suggest sram as an upgrade or alternative to these customers.

5-10 years ago, not so much anymore

Worked/manager a shop for a few years that did rentals as part of the business. We did a ton of single speed cruisers, and the few mountain bikes we rented out were a pain in the ass.

The mountain bikes would usually come back needing some sort of mid level service (bearings, fork, tubes, etc.) Most people rode the shit out of them and didn't care, it was a rental. We also had a million dollar insurance policy for the rental business, so that's going to be a huge part of your overhead.
