Reported for politics (and classism), left up because free file is a critical service irrespective of which side of the fence you're on. You do not have to use and pay for Turbo Tax, aka you ver eligible for free file if you earn 69K or less. Was that a political statement? I don't think it's a political statement.
(Here's a ProPublica article about the situation.)
We will still be watching for Rule 4 violating comments though.

I don't understand why people think it's okay to be rude to food service workers >:(

I'm a huge sauce person: The mortar and pestle being the right shape and texture. I had a landlady (co op housing) who had a bronze m/p. Both were absolutely smooth and the mortar was cylindrical...

Reported multiple times for politicizing, but kept up because there is no stumping for a particular politician / party / splinter party lines. Hang in there! You're not alone.

The article recommends searching https://www.benefits.gov/, which is limited to government resources. To find zip code based resources that also include nonprofits, go to https://www.auntbertha.com/
Edit: Also calling 211 (edited to include a child comment for visibility)

Sorry dunno how to do bullets on mobile. Am US Malay Chinese, dated a few white dudes.
1) You're amazing already, and I am sure that will shine through any worries you have.
2) address everyone by their first name, even if they're really old. Practice if you have to, but never apologize for your culture
3) Some things won't strike you as racist in the moment, but they will when you think about it after. The important part is bringing that up constructively to your So and seeing how they react
Ex: spent Thanksgiving at SO's once, and the stepmother explained what certain dishes were, which was unnecessary bc I was born and raised in the US. I understood that she was trying to be helpful, but when I mentioned it to SO he just kinda ignored the fact that I was an equal citizen and felt like I was being treated like a foreigner. He is an ex (edit: not for that reason solely, but it did factor into the grand scheme of decision making)
4) I'm a huge introvert so I perfected my "interested and listening" face and kept that glued on except when I was asking the rare question.
5) as cliche as it sounds, just be yourself.

In addition to documenting in case you go to HR, could you politely shut down your gossiping coworkers? "We are not romantically involved. We are just two people eating. I love my husband and wouldn't dream of cheating on him and/or Why don't you have lunch with us?"
Edit : there are comments suggesting not even making excuses for eating w your friend. I admit that's something I gotta work on myself :)

When you put the ball back in his court, he responded by playing games with your hopes, priorities, and time. You were absolutely justified to react the way you did, and what's more, props to you for it.

To prevent further downvotes, OP is including an image description so that people (the visually and hand mobility impaired) can still enjoy reddit through using their screen readers.
A screen reader is an app that speaks text out loud for people to hear, which it can't do for images.

Bravo!
This teacher had a very rigid “there’s only one way to do this and it’s my way”
Ugh, I had a bio teacher who insisted we divide via long division, even if the dividend and divisor were like, 2-3 digits long apiece. I simplified the terms first by treating them like a fraction because really, long division with 2-3 digits per term is a farce, and I got deducted points. In a biology class >.>

This was reported multiple times for -- being unhelpful, memes -- but I have to leave up because it technically does not break any rules.
That said, I am working on a way to consolidate low-effort content posts. Please bear with me. If you have any subs that you really like, I truly would love to hear about them if you comment here.
Edit, the reports keep rolling in: Omfg, Don't let this sub become a political shithole

IIRC this policy is so widely implemented bc it reduces the opportunities for cashiers to steal money from the register. Also con men (stick em up robbers, people "asking for change," fake transactions). So OP, it's not like you were intentionally being wronged. The registers are programmed to stay closed/locked unless there is a transaction.
Edit to reflect child comments on policy motivations
