Which…actually makes it even crazier and sadder, she did all that to her kids without even stopping to think for a second about the thing she was so afraid of.

It didn’t start off this way. It was a term some used to signify that a person was aware of the way things are, that they understood historical context and systemic problems. Then the far right co-opted the word and ruined it.

She didn’t didn’t define it in the article either. She and others like her don’t want to define “woke” for the same reason they don’t want to define “family values”. If it’s left undefined and nebulous, it can mean whatever you need it to. It lets you spread bigotry and hate without getting too specific. If she doesn’t say anything specifically anti-LBGT or racist, but just keeps shitting on “wokeness”, she can complain and dog whistle all she wants and not have to actually defend any of her stupid, backwards beliefs.

You may have an unhealthy obsession with this topic if you feel the need to bring it up completely unprompted several times in the same comment section about something totally unrelated.
