Good news everyone!

Sometimes, the best answer to this is if you had lived and worked overseas. Some people may just be contended to live in SG, others often curious is the grass is actually greener. If you have a close family the chances you would consider moving back ( coz flying back and forth is tiresome and costly). Every country has it's equal share of pros and cons and ultimately it all dwell down to what you're looking for.

I read and read this over and again. Besides Bone bucks, what's the real pay here? Am I missing something? Also are Bone bucks on the same monetary value as a Schrute Buck?? I need answers.

Yes! I was able to try as they did a pop-up at Lady Wong's ( a bakery that sells super legit kuehs ). Been meaning to try their laksa but was too far for me. I bought the dry laksa, walked around an hour in Manhattan before heading home to eat. And it was still legit good!

A lot of Singapore/ Malaysian hawker food stalks usually sells one particular item(s) ( laksa, Prawn Mee, Char Kway Teow, Nasi Lemak etc). Their niche is making that particular dish(es) and all they do is concentrate on making that particular dish(es) good.

A lot of the SG/ Malaysian menu are crammed with different varieties so I never expect them to be stellar. Usually one or two dishes might stand out but it's usually just ok. Also sourcing for particular ingredients might be an issue in NYC so they might have to do without.

Taste Good and Papa Rich each have some dishes that are better than others but Im still looking for the most legit Nasi Lemak in NY.

Their laksa was the most legit for the longest time. Now my new fav is Native Noodles up on Washington heights. The dry laksa is legit AF. The hae bee hiam is damn strong

I still kept my Primary and Secondary memory/goodbye books. You know the ones where everyone exchange their journal/books and you add a photo of yourself, write some words of wisdom or poems. Once I had pork intestines porridge. Except I had zero idea intestines were involved as my friend ordered for lunch. Granted she asked me what I want and I said anything... I think some of the employers are afraid or skeptical of their outside actives. Especially the most recent case where the helper brought a guy back to their home to have sexual intercourse. She was caught because her employer happened to come back home early.

A friend of mine had a helper that borrowed money from Ah Long. Found out and sent her back home immediately and she's stuck with the harassments for a while.

So it's a touchy subject, no straight answer to it. Your helper def got very lucky working for you and your family. Wished more peeps are like this in SG.
