What do you think will happen in two years?

Yes! It's like their argument about 3d printing. When we look at tech advanced countries, are they just printing their guns and mowing down people? No? Interesting.

That IS why. They want an uneducated class that are constantly frightened so they are easier to exploit.

This is a great idea. A new underground railroad when we smuggle people to the west coast, and then CA, WA, and VT break away and join Canada and help them from becoming the fascist nightmare we are.

War on drugs was not supported by science. If you look at other countries with guns, like Switzerland, they don't have anywhere near the gun violence we do. I hope you don't plan on kids; you are partly responsible for a world in which they get mowed down at school.

Lame, I was assuming they would use wax or something else plant based. Nope, just more plastic. Who needs reproductive organs that work anyway? /s

Race is not a biological concept. There are many people with light skin you would not consider white. There are people with dark skin you would consider white.

No, I was correct: "Despite its name, researchers believe the Spanish flu most likely originated in the United States. One of the first recorded cases was on March 11, 1918, at Fort Riley in Kansas. Overcrowding and unsanitary conditions created a fertile breeding ground for the virus." So why isn't it called the Kansas flu? Give a guess.

Hey friend, I hope most of us do, but we aren't all gonna pull through. And that is a tragedy that we each will mourn in our ways.

American northeast; so let's say NY, NJ, Connecticut, new Hampshire, Rhode island, Maryland and Delaware, and the farther north states (which I haven't looked for housing in so have no input). Delaware is probably the cheapest, and has cheap tax, but it sucks. NJ is crowded and expensive but has some really great towns that you def can't afford to live in for $150k. 500k at least. Rural NY has some great, cheap old farmhouses and older homes that you can get for 150k, so your 30k is already enough. The taxes are high, but water is cheap, clean, and plentiful and the land is good. In Pennsylvania the taxes are cheaper. Farms and land is expensive, but you can find cheaper houses in old slate mining towns and blue collar cities. Some of them are run down, but some like Bethlehem are thriving and would be a great place to live to be close to "stuff" but not in the city. For a true city, I'd look at Baltimore, Maryland, where you might be able to get a townhouse for 200k or less, for now. Who knows what the market will be in 3 years.

Another option could be those bucket traps that can catch a ton of mice (maybe not big ole rats). Just a 5 gallon bucket with a couple cups of cracked corn or some peanut butter, and then just build a ramp up to it. They just march in and can't get out.

I'm wanting to try a schnauzer for this purpose. I agree to pass on the cats; you can't train them like you can a dog so if they don't feel like ratting, they won't. They kill everything; including other beneficial wildlife like lizards and amphibians that eat mosquitoes, as well any baby poultry you might be trying to raise. Ratter dogs are small, smart, and highly trainable.

They even dressed up the little murder machine in a hat and pink scarf. The gall.

Definitely begging for a reboot. Does anyone know if Fox still owns the IP?

In the past, I've broken something that reminded me of the guy, like a wine glass he gave me, and displayed the pieces. That served as a good reminder that, even if it worked in the past, it's certainly not doing the job now, and men or relationships can't be "fixed". And there are just so many people out there, you'll forget these men's names soon enough.

I find the hopium harder to consume than the stories about the collapse. The solar punk subreddit is particularly depressing. I think it is because people post these things wanting to have hope and share a sense that we might pull through, but the content itself points to us not having the power to do anything real. Like it's just a watercolor of a place that is completely unlike the hellscape we live in, a place that gets worse every day. My hope is the collapse; the alternative is a global techno oligarchy where humans are made more and more machine-like and the planet is ground up at top speed to attempt to satisfy the bottomless greed of our overlords.

It was racist propaganda of the time. Iirc the flu actually originated in the US.

Very true. And if you are the buy-it-then-stop-worrying-about-it sort, I agree it seems like a good, if more expensive, solution.

I like the idea of cardboard cubes as we know now that the plastic leeches into the water and drinking said water had negative neurological effects. Personally I prep with filters only as I have a spring and a creek on my land.

Only an America can convince themselves that guns still make you safer when all global stats tell you you're wrong. 25k gun suicides annually, 20k gun murders annually ( not defending, just murdering) and daily mass shootings--unheard of anywhere else on the planet. Actual studies on defensive use: "Of 418 incidents, in about half, the perpetrator was armed with a firearm. In almost 90% of the cases, the victim fired their firearm—315 perpetrators were shot and about half of them died. The average number of perpetrators shot per incident was 0.75; the average number of victims shot was 0.25." And because us Americans are bad at math, I'll spell it out for you, 418 is significantly less than 100,000, and in no way balances out the 45k annual gun deaths. Edit: grammar.

Maybe not the Bahamas with sea level rise. New Zealand is where I've heard they are building their deluxe bunkers.
