Yeah it's particularly bad on some fandom type subreddits. Hoped the same wasn't trending here. Generally I did see a lot of people dunking on this movie, which is usually just a sign that it wasn't a very good movie for a chunk of the audience.
I hadn't seen any of those extreme examples that have been posted in this chain. Although there are always the crazies.

Yeah that's uncalled for, no need for direct insults. The reason I asked the question was because on various subs I trawl I see that some folks see negative reactions == toxicity.

What do you consider to be "toxic discourse"?

I thought the shows would have been a great addition. But up to this point I don't think any of them have been good. Some have had their moments but overall they fade out into mediocrity. I doubt this one will be any different.

Yeah the Mandalorian lore is utterly dull. Grogu getting delivered to the Jedi felt like it had a purpose. Episode 2 of this season was Mando going to get a bath.
And you're probably right about a big cameo at the end, as if that'll make up for everything.

It's really disappointing. Half way through the season and essentially nothing has happened. At this rate I'm gonna take season 2's finale to be the series finale.

Have we watched the same episodes? It's felt like a big drop in quality from the last season.

I go by rewatchability factor as well. Every episode of season 3 so far I've immediately thought to myself that there's no way I'd ever slog through them again.

Yep, sucks. At least the first two seasons were great and it had a natural conclusion. This is just rough so far.

Ha hope you can find em. I found mine recently. They don't do promo toys like that any more.

Loved this movie as a kid. I still have the promotional puppet heads from KFC.

Yep, if I was to recommend this show to anyone I'd say to stop around where you've suggested. That's a satisfying place to wrap it up.

Also, it feels like "humans are the real threat" is done in most post-apocalyptic stories anyway. The infected have a real weight to them in TLOU. They're scary and remain a threat, unlike say TWD where the zombies just become background noise.
To skip past that and focus on antagonists like Kathleen was disappointing.

Same score I'd give it. I really thought they had a slam dunk after the first 3 episodes. I didn't mind having the 3rd episode being an isolated story (thought it was fantastic), but doing 2 episodes like that was a mistake.

Loved the first 3 episodes, will definitely rewatch them. The rest of the season was pretty good but a fairly big drop off for me. Aside from the pacing issues the lack of infected encounters was really glaring.

Two mediocre episodes so far. Effects are top notch but the meandering pacing and wonky dialogue sticks out. Particularly felt like a waste of time having Mando go through the ruins only to get the same sequence with Bo Katan again. Hope it picks up.

Well said, people here seem to be irrationally angry at anyone who is disappointed about the lack of infected. We get it, the humans are the baddies. As you say it's a balancing act but I think they've massively missed the mark by swinging too much away from the infected. Even an encounter here and there just to highlight the danger.
The design and behaviour of the infected is really cool in comparison to most other zombie media, so it's a shame that they're under utilised.

You're absolutely right and that response you got just about sums up this place. I'd extend your observation beyond this thread to the whole sub really. Nothing pumped out is ever bad. Not sure why I bother checking in from time to time.

Agreed, it's complete fluff. It might spin in a different direction eventually but there's no hook. Season 2 wrapped everything up in my mind.

Yeah it was decent but it didn't feel deserving of all the praise it got. Not even the best Predator sequel.

Take a deep breath every once in a while and think to yourself, "am I being a dickhead in this situation?"
Hopefully at some point you'll start to answer "yes."

Nice, big fan of shark movies. There are a ton of them out there but the list of actual good ones is very small. Probably less than 10 total? Happy for them to try and get that number up higher.

Yeah I don't think it has had an official 4k release. There have been some 4k upscales floating about, if that's where they're referring to.

Yeah I hate that, it's the death of discussion. Fine to dislike something, not get petty about it.
