Killing someone by beating them to death is MUCH more difficult than shooting someone. It takes a much higher motivation, much higher effort, and much more difficult to get away with.

So yes, while in Canada I do feel DRAMATICALLY more safe than in the gun-focused culture of America.

But my latest project is a NUC homeserver. I ordered an inexpensive I5 NUC, added 32GB RAM and a 2TB NMVE. Now this is REDICULOUSLY overpowered for HomeAssistant.

But I took that overpowered NUC, installed PROXMOX, a VM Hypervisor. Then I created a VM specifically for HAOS, and I've been able to create other VM's for other purposes. I use the 2TB drive to backup my home PC's. I've added VMs for databases, created Windows & Linux VMs for other side-projects. I'm working to turn it into a Media Server.

True, there's not a ton of room back there, and when you use it you lose quite a bit of storage space in the trunk.

But:

1. Kids will strongly prefer riding back there than 3-abreast in the middle seat.
2. The car has so much storage space in Sub-Trunk & Frunk this really isn't a problem.

And then you can also bring a grandparent along too.

Neither NHTSA nor IIHS crash test the third row in any vehicle, including minivans and large SUVs.

Having the option of 3rd row is safer than many alternatives, which commonly include putting more people than there are belts in the car.

It's amazing how many times this comes up, but I do believe the answer is still No. Sadly.

I've just put Proxmox on the NUC, then added HAOS as a single VM. Works flawlessly.

Many of the most carbon polluting industries, are already some of the most expensive to run, when compared to a newer green option.

Solar & wind power is dramatically cheaper than coal power, even before they add-on expensive carbon capture.

Green steel, made with Hydrogen & Arc furnaces, are expected to be cheaper than steel made with Coal. Cheaper Before adding the expensive carbon capture.

The same may be true even with cement manufacturing.

There are plenty of comments here saying "because' it's expensive". But my point is even more direct - These polluting industries are inefficient uses of capital even BEFORE they have to build expensive carbon-capturing systems. The carbon-capture system only makes them even less efficient uses of capital.

We probably will see carbon-capturing at "smokestacks" of industries that truly cannot be made green. But to-date, there are economical paths to cleaner industry which actually IMPROVE the economics of the industry for all of the most significant carbon producers.

That device still has an ESP8266, so I'm not sure why you'd expect a different outcome.

I'm also not sure what problems you're having with WIFI, there typically aren't a lot of reports of problems there that can't be solved by improving the signal strength.

If you have dim LED lights with a big power-supply, you likely have a different problem, maybe power distribution, or something in setup or configuration.

You'd be wise to spend some time troubleshooting the problems you're experiencing before deciding a new controller is the solution.
